As we commemorate Women’s History Month, we're thrilled to introduce you to the amazing women in our organization who are shaping the future with their passion and dedication. Meet Lindsay Fuller, Chief of Staff to the President and CEO Doreen Harris.
➡️ What is your role at NYSERDA?
As Chief of Staff, I help to keep our President and CEO organized by prepping her for internal and external meetings; manage incoming requests from the Governor’s Office and coordinate internal meetings and communications to keep our team informed about all the great work happening across the organization.
➡️What led you to work at NYSERDA/Clean Energy?
In the few years before I came to NYSERDA, I was working in emergency management, first with the NYC Mayor’s Office supporting the pandemic response and later with New York State at the Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services. Given that the climate crisis is one of, if not the greatest, emergencies we are facing as a state, as a nation, and as a world, I felt called to come to NYSERDA to be a part of the solution! And I’ve learned an incredible amount about the clean energy space since I arrived!
➡️ What advice would you give to those who are looking to work in this field?
I had a non-traditional path before arriving at NYSERDA. I firmly believe that every workplace is enriched by bringing in people from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives. So my advice would be to follow your instinct, even if you don’t consider yourself a “traditional” candidate. Build your network; don’t be afraid to ask people for advice or support. I’ve found that people love to be asked for advice—even by strangers on LinkedIn! Own the “story” of who you are and what you bring to the table and be patient with yourself as you learn and try new things!
➡️ What is one fun fact about you?
I used to work at Nickelodeon, so I was once “slimed.” Another fun fact: I started my “career” as a junior zookeeper.

January 2024 is in the books. What a month. When I moved to Armanino LLP at the end of last year I found a firm that allowed me to live the work values that are important to me: have fun at work, learn, and make an impact.
Over the last month I have had great fun at work visiting our San Ramon and Philadelphia offices getting to know wickedly smart people who make a difference to our teams, people, and clients every day.
I’ve also learned so much at a firm that feels different. Our entrepreneurial approach is palpable and feels different to other places I’ve worked. One of my biggest learning points has been understanding what it means to be a B-Corp and one of the very few B-Corps in our space, which adds to our commitment and sense of responsibility to our communities.
As for impact…one of the highlights was participating in this month’s Committee Leader launch where I met so many people who put our people and communities first through numerous groups promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in tangible ways. We also got to have a little fun while doing good stuffing soft toys for kids going into foster homes.
There are so many opportunities at Armanino LLP and 2024 promises to be a great year as we continue to create a Uniquely Armanino experience for all our people.

As someone deeply embedded in the intersection of education, anti-racism, and equity, my journey into consulting wasn't just a career move—it was a calling. Throughout my years in academia and community advocacy, I recognized the gaps in how we approach DEI.
Too often, organizations implement surface-level changes, thinking that diversity programs are enough. But real inclusion happens when we face uncomfortable truths and confront our structures head-on. SAYJE CONSULTING was born from my desire to help organizations achieve
sustainable, systemic change. It’s personal because this is the work our future generations depend on.

This week is 'Neurodiversity Celebration Week'
I'm sure like me at times it can feel a bit overwhelming and confusing to navigate this subject, especially in work. CIPD have produced a great document explaining neurodiversity in the workplace
Their two tips to building an inclusive, neurodiverse workplace are:
1. C-suite advocacy
2. Awareness training
What are your top tips for businesses to be inclusive of neurodiversity?

15+ years of expertise in venture capital, family offices, entertainment, cybersecurity, Super PACs, and SaaS. Specializing in government relations and DE&I initiatives!
As one of the co-founders of letstalkroundtable.com and other projects, I am deeply committed to fostering a platform that not only encourages but necessitates meaningful dialogue among all members of our community. Our mission is to transform the dynamics between leadership and advocacy, creating a space where real conversations can lead to real change.
At Let’s Talk Roundtable, we believe that leadership should function hand-in-hand with advocacy. By engaging leaders from various sectors—including community advocates, law enforcement, and local government—we aim to create a holistic dialogue that respects and incorporates diverse perspectives. This approach is not just about sharing ideas; it’s about actively listening and responding to the concerns that affect our community.
Our discussions focus on pressing systemic issues, such as the challenges of racial and xenophobic behavior within institutions. These are not easy conversations, but they are necessary. By bringing these issues to the forefront in a constructive manner, we can begin to unravel the complexities of these problems and work toward comprehensive solutions.
Leadership, in the context of Let’s Talk Roundtable, goes beyond traditional roles. It is about facilitating conversations that might otherwise be avoided and acting as a bridge between divided communities. Our platform ensures that all voices are not only heard but are integral to the policymaking process. This collaborative approach enhances transparency and builds trust, which are essential for effective governance and community relations.
As we continue to build and grow Let’s Talk Roundtable, I am reminded daily of the power of conversation. It is through our discussions that we uncover the shared values that bind us, despite our differences. It is here, in the nexus of leadership and advocacy, that we find the path forward—a path paved with respect, understanding, and a commitment to action.
Thank you in advance for joining us in this crucial dialogue. Together, we can shape a future that reflects the best of what our community has to offer.
More MN civic sector salary information via 9 roles with the new State of Minnesota "Department of Children, Youth and Families" that pay between $96,800 and $183,660.
Spread the word to MN nonprofit board members that still think $80,000 - $100,000 salary range is a lot to pay their Executive Director who is expected to fundraise, manage a board, lead a team and navigate the complexities of an uncertain funding and operational landscape in Minnesota in 2024.
The competition for MN's civic talent will only continue to increase as retirements accelerate and city, county and state agencies offer more stability, better benefits and increasingly higher salaries.
To be clear, I welcome this additional investment in Minnesota families, but the competitive impact on recruiting and retaining talent in Minnesota's nonprofit sector is real and only increasing.
