RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
This chapter presents the different methods and procedures used by the
researchers to achieve the goals of the study. It emphasized the description of the
research design and research instrument. And it also includes the respondents, locale,

Given the specific context of the study, which entailed examining the level of
reading comprehension within the pupil population of the target locale, it was noted that
both Antipolo Elementary School and Caranday Elementary School had considerably
small student populations, with Antipolo Elementary School comprising 17 pupils and
Caranday Elementary School having 35 pupils. This limited number of pupils in each
may not adequately capture the diversity and variability within the population.

Recognizing this constraint, the researchers opted for a total population sampling
approach. This method involves including every individual from the population of
interest in the study, thereby ensuring that no subset of the population is overlooked or
excluded from the analysis.2 By encompassing all 17 pupils from Antipolo Elementary
School and all 35 pupils from Caranday Elementary School, the researchers aimed to
The decision to use total population sampling was motivated by the desire to
maximize the representativeness of the sample and to ensure that the findings
accurately reflect the realities of the target locale. Additionally, this approach mitigated
potential biases that may arise from selecting a smaller subset of pupils through
conventional sampling methods. Despite the logistical challenges posed by the limited
pupil population in each school, the researchers deemed total population sampling as
the most appropriate and rigorous method for achieving the study's objectives.

average frequency and percentage of the academic profile; and the average score of
reading literacy.
Percentage of data is found by adding up all the values of the data points and
dividing by the total number of data points multiplied by 100. The academic profile of
the respondents will be determined using percentages. 2 The formula used to calculate
