Detailed Lesson Plan

and how it provides factual information and also
how it is being different from other types of
writing.

writing with their own topic

C. Learning Competency(ies) Construct expository writing with Key Structural


Elements which are the Introduction, the body
and the conclusion.

D. Learning Objective(s)

1. Learn what expository writing is.


2. Students will be able to develop good
writing

3. Students will be able to compose writing


which incorporate various expository
styles: Examples, Cause and Effect,
Comparison and Contrast, Description,
Problem and Solution

Before we proceed to our new topic let’s have
first a review what was our topic last meeting?

Our topic last meeting was all about Formulate

So now before I introduce our new topic


Let's have first a game
This game is called Blindfold walk
Detailed Lesson Plan
All I have to do is to group you into 2 groups and
each team must take 2 students from the front of
each line inside the classroom.

So, here’s the instruction:


Teach: go forward, go backward, 3 steps, turn
right/left. One member of the team will be placed
by a blindfold and one will direct her/him just to
pick the smiley faces on the floor.

Do you have any questions?

None ma’am

Alright, the team who picked more smiley faces


will be the winner in this game and will open the
red paper bag and get the thing inside and post it
on the black board.
You have only 5 minutes

So now, let the game begin in 3,2,1 go

(class do the game)

game you received 50 points and you may get the
red paper bag now.

(class open the paper bag and post the thing on


the blackboard)

What is EXPOSITORY WRITING?

 presents or provides information about a


particular topic
 Sometimes called informational writing
where the writer provides facts on a
given topic in a way that is educational
and purposeful.
 May also include providing descriptions,
citing reasons, presenting explanations,
and enumerating steps of a specific
process

B. Establishing a purpose for the lesson Activity 2: Sequence me!


Instruction: Arrange the proper order on how to
brush your teeth properly by writing number in
each given space.
_ Rinse your toothbrush
_Remove your toothbrush
_Wet your toothbrush with water
_Rinse your mouth
_Brush your teeth for two to three minutes.
_Put toothpaste on your toothbrush.
_Put your toothbrush back in the holder.

This lesson will make you learn the importance of


sequence in exposition structure. You can learn
to organize informational text and you can be
able to know how to state order of events by
showing what happened first, what happened
later, and how things ended up. Informational
text should be organized and concise.
