Springing into Spring!

Springing into Spring!

I have spent a bit of time outside over the past few weeks – walking to and from meetings, fishing down at Aldinga on the weekends, spending time with some of my favourite people – and being outside has really made me appreciate the beginning of a new, warmer, sunnier season. I think this is something we all take for granted as well – thinking of those in Victoria at the moment who don’t have access to this as freely and easily as some of us.

The colour of spring is green… and often people refer to this time of year as the “perfect” time for change. Other than the obvious reasons for the colour green being a symbol for this season, we can also relate it to this idea of change or other phrases we use in our everyday language. Consider what is “green” in your life right now. What’s new, fresh and exciting? Or what do you want to be? This is the perfect time to bring more green into your life.

For me, new, fresh and exciting involves thinking about areas in my life around both my work life and personal life.

Business – I have set new mini goals for the remainder of the year. I really felt like myself and my team needed this refresh, so we sat down a couple of weeks ago and went through what we want to achieve over the course of the next few months prior to construction shut down in December. We also have a new team member starting with us in a few weeks’ time… if that’s not new, fresh and exciting, I don’t know what is!

Personal – I have been taking more time to appreciate the little things. I set myself a goal to consume less refined sugar for the month of September… and if you know me, you know I love cake (!) so this is a challenge for me.

2020 has been full of surprises and I have been chatting to lots of clients lately who feel like the grind of this year has them feeling burnt out and exhausted. I feel you. The sun is out this week, this is your reminder to take even just 10 minutes today to sit outside in the sunshine and assess where you are at and where you want to be.
