This week, let's hear from Beth Hope ICF PCC , UK ICF Co-Director for Credentialing Standard and Coaching Education Providers, about her experience and reasons for joining the Board as a volunteer! Q: What motivated you to volunteer to join the UK ICF, and what drew you to this organisation specifically? A: The ICF is the gold standard of coaching and I am passionate about helping the coaching industry become more regulated and held to a high standard. I wanted to help achieve this and contribute more directly to my industry. Q: Can you share a bit about your journey into coaching and what inspired you to pursue this path? A: I discovered coaching almost by accident and when I did, it suddenly clicked that this had been what I'd been searching for so far in my career. I love how you can help someone help themselves to the life they are meant to be living. I immediately got my certificate in coaching and then a few years later I left the corporate world to pursue coaching full-time, got my Diploma and set up my own business. I've not looked back! Q: What are your personal goals or aspirations within the coaching profession, and how do you hope to make an impact via your coaching? A: I'd love the coaching industry to be more regulated so I think it's of paramount importance to be credentialed and demonstrate that, as a coach, you have rigorous training, strong ethical practice and continuous personal development so that we can be the best coaches possible for our clients. Q: How do you see your role within the UK ICF contributing to the wider coaching community and its future development? A: I love helping our community progress on their credentialing journey so that we're increasing the number of credentialed coaches and celebrating that hard-earned achievement. It's also so energising to host our Ethics Forum and hold a space where we can debate current practical topics that come up in our day-to-day practice to help each other grow, iterate and make the ethical code practical. Wondering if you could join their area? We are currently actively recruiting for 2 Associate Board Members - check out the details here: https://lnkd.in/dB9HCiSJ
