As we reach the middle of December, we are delighted to announce we are now well over halfway to hitting our fundraising target in our Christmas Appeal – all thanks to you! 💝 So far this month, you have helped us raise over £25,000 towards our £31,000 target, which will fund the items and services on our 'Alternative Christmas List' 🎁 For the first twelve days of December, we shared the items on our festive wish list, and explained how they would make a difference to our patients and families. With your kindness and support, we can now fund many of these items, and hope that by Christmas, we might be able to hit our target together, making the wish list a reality 🌠 If you’d like to find out more about our appeal in support of our St Oswald’s Hospice family, visit our website 👉 https://lnkd.in/eszH4K76 Thank you so much for your continued support 💙 #StOswaldsHospice | #QualityTimeForEveryone | #OpenUpHospiceCare | #ChristmasAppeal | #TwelveWaysOfChristmas | #AlternativeChristmasList | #ThankYou

There’s a common myth that hospice care is fully funded by the NHS. Unfortunately that isn’t true - they mainly rely on fundraising and the generosity of the public in the local community. It currently costs around 1.6 billion a year to run UK hospices, around a third of that cost is covered by the government, but the rest is made up from donations, legacies and various fund raising activities. It’s time to increase state funding and raise awareness to ensure local hospices can continue providing essential care to our communities. If you want to find out more about Engage & Connect and the work we do to help close the funding gap, so that local hospices can continue providing vital care to those in need, click here 👉🏽 https://lnkd.in/gbSBtG26 🌟More than ever, we need more fundraisers to join our teams! 🌟 #fundraisingforacause #ukhospices #CharitySector #charityfundraising #hospicecare #HospiceUK
