Another year, another superb edition of The Future of Creative Business conference. Creative Business HU consistently delivers a full day of inspiring lectures, workshops, and interactions to its attendees. Congratulations to the team, you’ve done it again! One aspect I truly enjoy about this conference is the variety of speakers invited. Magdalena Mojsiejuk’s presentation invited us to consider how Hollywood films — the Terminator saga as a prime example — have created and perpetuated a bizarre and dystopian image of the relationship between future technologies and humankind. Contrastingly, in a talk-show-style interview with Lianne Bergeron, Ma’MaQueen from The Diverse Agency, discussed what she described as the reality of living a fantasy, as well as her journey of becoming a drag mother and the person she is now. I greatly enjoyed hearing both speakers. Was there a highlight of the day? Oh my, was there ever one! Hearing Staffan Lindberg’s presentation, and later speaking with him at the conference wrap-up, was incredibly inspiring. It’s not every day that I get to ask questions to a climate journalist who investigated the H&M “Let’s Close The Loop” program and cracked open its glossy shell to reveal what’s really behind it: a mountain rising from Korle Lagoon in Ghana made up of discarded and rotting garments woven with remains of the fish that once inhabited the lagoon. If you haven't already, I highly recommend taking a close look at the alarming extent of the environmental impact caused by fast fashion megabrands such as H&M. There’s no better starting point than Staffan Lindberg and Magnus Wennman’s story: https://lnkd.in/evsDdnkh. Once again, thank you to the Creative Business HU staff, guest speakers, and organizing team for a wonderfully educational and stimulating day. #unleashingcuriosity #creativebusinessconference #creativebusiness #thefutureofcreativebusiness #challengethestatusquo #investigativejournalism #climatejournalist #environmentalinjustice #fastfashion
