On this #Earthday with the theme being "Planet Vs Plastics", we are hoping to create a shift that makes us and our planet a better place. United Nations
The plastic crisis is a dual threat - to our planet and public health. Single-use plastics are choking our oceans, waterways, and landscapes. But the crisis doesn't end there.
Plastics contain toxic additives that can leach out and disrupt hormones linked to cancer, infertility, and developmental issues. The microplastics shed from plastic products have been found in our food, water, and even the air we breathe.
What was once considered a modern marvel has become an insidious poison, turning the conveniences of our throw-away culture into a public health and environmental nightmare.
Here are few ways I have always managed plastics for more than a decade:
🔔 Don't use plastic while shopping for groceries - Bring your cloth bag
🔔 Avoid using plastic bottles/ boxes for drinking and storage- Use glass or metal
🔔 Replace personal products with wooden or glass
🔔 Lastly, if you do see plastic around, please pick it up for recycling
