It was indeed a pleasure and an honor to be part of an amazing team in writing the international scientific report on AI safety, benefiting from the great expertise of contributors from various countries, under the chairmanship of Professor Yoshua. Congratulations to all the team members who participated in the writing of this report. Here is the link to the interim version of the report, which will be launched at the upcoming AI Safety Summit in Seoul: https://lnkd.in/dFET2BKX"
The interim International Scientific Report on the Safety of Advanced Artificial Intelligence has just been published, in preparation for the AI Seoul Summit 2024 on May 21-22. This is a first step towards the actual report, which will be published later in the year. Note that the repot aims to be neutral on policy issues and hence neither makes any policy recommendations nor describes policy mitigation strategies. The report offers a comprehensive and balanced view on the topic, led by Prof Yoshua Bengio and the team at Mila - Quebec Artificial Intelligence Institute, with the feedback from representatives from 30 countries across the globe. It has been a pleasure having the opportunity to participate in this effort in collaboration with Antonio Krüger, Balaraman Ravindran Bronwyn Fox André Carlos Ponce de Leon F de Carvalho Mona Nemer Raquel Pezoa Yi Zeng Juha Heikkilä Guillame Avrin Hammam Riza Ciarán Seoighe Ziv Katzir Andrea Monti Hiroaki Kitano José Ramón López-Portillo Romano Haroon Sheikh Gill Jolly Olubunmi Ajala Dominic Ligot Kyoung Mu Lee Crystal Rugege Fahad Albalawi Denise Wong Christian Busch Ahmet Halit Hatip Marwan Alserkal Oleksii Molchanovskyi Saif M. That was a nice presentation you did there, Tigist Awoke - ትዕግስት አወቀ! AI positive values to the society are numerous. We'd not allow negative drawbacks which can be handled through dynamic and all inclusive governance framework retard AI benefits. It is important that African datasets feature prominently in Africa facing AI products and services.
