Microservice Architecture! Imagine you're running a big restaurant, and instead of having one chef who does everything, you have several chefs, each specializing in one dish—one for pasta, one for pizza, one for desserts. This way: 1. Easier to Manage: If something goes wrong with the pasta, only the pasta chef needs to fix it; the pizza and dessert chefs can keep working without being affected. 2. Faster Service: All chefs can cook their dishes at the same time. This means your customers get their food faster because everything is being worked on separately but at the same time. 3. More Reliable: If the pizza chef gets sick, the rest of the kitchen still works fine. Only pizza will be delayed, but the restaurant stays open. 4. More Flexibility: You can hire the best pizza chef, the best pasta chef, and so on. Each part of the kitchen can use the best tools and ingredients for their job. 5. Handles Growth: As your restaurant gets more popular, you can hire more chefs for specific dishes, or even open a second kitchen for just pasta without changing the whole restaurant. That’s what microservices do for software. Each part of the software (like each chef) does one job really well, and together, they make the whole system run smoothly and grow easily.

Throwback to Our RabbitMQ Presentation! I had the pleasure of collaborating with my colleague Rachida Gramir to deliver a presentation on RabbitMQ. We explored its utility and how it works, providing a live demonstration using .NET. RabbitMQ is a powerful messaging broker, and showcasing its capabilities through a practical demo was a great experience. What running a virtual coffee shop taught me about software engineering ☕️ In true programmer fashion, I have been playing a realistic simulation game of running a coffee shop, Barista Simulator by CUBECUBE SPORTS BILISIM VE TEKNOLOJI LIMITED SIRKETI. I was restocking, making orders, frothing milk, cleaning used coffee grounds and more! Besides giving me a dream to run a coffee shop when I retire financially free, the game helped me find parallels with my actual full-time job as a software engineer! 💸 Sometimes investing is more rewarding than saving In software engineering, speed and efficiency are key to a great app. Buying a 3-in-1 coffee machine with grinder and milk frother helped me complete orders in half the time, compared to using three separate devices with smaller capacities. ⏳ Be flexible or reprioritise your tasks I’ve run out of stock multiple times while making orders, and the game does not immediately bless your storage with immediate deliveries 🤣 So during the wait or “blocker”, I was cleaning the shop, restocking other devices and tossing out old coffee grounds. In software engineering, this can look like building other features or refactoring while waiting for approvals and access. 🧹 Today’s cleanup will make tomorrow’s setup easier At the end of the day, I COULD leave the messes for the playthrough the following in-game day, OR I could do the cleanup now and start “right away” the next day! 🧺 A tidy space is easier to faster to work with Despite unlimited waiting time from the customers, I found myself having cups, espressos, milk cartons and many other objects on the counters while making orders. Not only did it make it harder to find ingredients, but it also made end-day cleanup much more overwhelming. Refactoring your code seems like an additional task, but it speeds up debugging later knowing where and what classes perform a specific task. On a sidenote, is it a programmer thing to dream of a quiet cozy life as a farmer or barista? 😴 #SimulationGames #SoftwareEngineering

Building in Public Day 2: Today marked the second day of our next version of the product journey with Chingiz Huseynzade. We utilized Figma(which has become too complex these days :) ) to establish the foundational structure of our product. As much as we are not designers, customer feedback already started to look fine as a wireframe. And talking to fellow founders is the best part. They have issues whether it is selling, building, or marketing. Very few people care about building things to solve these problems. More visuals are coming soon for you to know what exactly we build and why 2024 won't be the same for product teams and founders. 😉
