Are you Team Black or Team Green? I'm super excited as the new season of HBO's House of the Dragon unfolds, I can't help but notice the remarkable similarities between the show's grand battles and our everyday challenges in the sales world. Just as the characters face formidable dragons, we confront our own "dragons" in the form of challenging prospects and high-stakes deals. Every call, meeting, and negotiation feels like a battle we must win. For the Targaryens, building strong alliances is essential for survival. Just as in sales, creating robust relationships with clients and colleagues is crucial. Our network can either make or break our success. And just as the Targaryens aspire to claim the Iron Throne, we are focused on achieving our own goals: reaching targets, earning promotions, and accomplishing personal milestones. #TeamBlack #TeamGreen #HouseOfTheDragon #SalesLife #BusinessStrategy #HBO

𝐀𝐁𝐂: 𝐀𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐁𝐞 𝐂𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠! Remember that iconic Alec Baldwin scene from Glengarry Glen Ross? It’s not just a great movie moment – it’s exactly how the online market works today. The top dog wins a Cadillac, the second-place gets steak knives, and third? Well, they’re out the door. In the online world, the winner takes it all. There’s no room for coming second or third. If you’re not aiming for the top, you might as well pack up now because someone else is taking the prize. It’s simple: 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒚 𝒃𝒊𝒈 𝒐𝒓 𝒅𝒐𝒏’𝒕 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒚 𝒂𝒕 𝒂𝒍𝒍. No one remembers the runner-up in this race. Check out the video attached and think about this – are you in it to win it? Or just watching from the sidelines? #AlwaysBeClosing #PlayToWin #GlengarryGlenRoss #OnlineMarket Vikas Arora | Prashant Singh | Akshit Mishra | Ninad Kulkarni | Japjit Sawhney | Michael Dell | Google | LinkedIn | Netflix | Uber

Very good insight! I agree, the landscape is shifting. Adapt or die. As a TV and movie production company we can align with the streaming platforms, and with half a dozen companies reach HALF of the entire world's population. By doing so we can also control our own destiny and costs. That is alluring. The media distribution marketplace will dramatically change in the next 36 months. Is there a place for cinema, theatres, streaming, and other alternative delivery methods to co-exist? Time will tell, we all adapt, we all evolve, that is the nature of business. Here is a prelude of things to come...

NeoCon was awesome, but here is my highlight for the week: a personal video from Jesse Cole, owner of the Savannah Bananas. The Savanna Bananas are a baseball team that has done for baseball what Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group has done for the circus. So why am I interested? Our industry is stuck in a 3 three-ring circus of #RTO, #Hybrid, and #WellBeing. William Gibson coined the phrase, "The future is already here, just not evenly distributed." We break from the past by finding positive outliers and learning their journey. That's not the same as copying their "formula." I recommend you buy Jesse's book, "Fans First." Jesse's video walks his talk and ignited my fan experience. Was it expensive to do? No Was it hard to do? No Did it send me over the top with enthusiasm? Absolutely What would it look like to create a culture of: Employees First Customers First This is the start of my conversation with the Savannah Bananas. Here is a link to Jesse's book: https://a.co/d/ixiMDQv

Here are the scores on the doors as we entered the weekend. Barbie streams (😎) ahead, with 4.1m Oppenheimer on 2.6 but with a similar share of on-platform viewing - i.e. share of current subscribers. Two important metrics to track over the coming weeks: 1 - Total views, both Barbie and Oppenheimer will see a boost in viewing due to Oscars publicity - but how much of a lead will the Best Picture (and 6 other awards) grant for Oppenheimer compared to an effective snub, only the Best Original Song win for Barbie. 2 - With Disney timing a range of discounts and offers across the globe, to tie in with Poor Things core streaming window, how many of these big budget titles will become the "first watched" show, i.e. how many subscribers will be drawn into a sub specifically because of these movies. We'll check back in to reveal all, in a couple of weeks time once the data-dust has settled! #oscars2024 #oppenheimer #barbie #imjustken
