During my MBA at SDA Bocconi, I had the pleasure of attending lectures by Professor Carlo Altomonte, an experience that greatly enriched me 🙏🏻. With remarkable clarity and simplicity, Professor Altomonte made complex topics such as monetary and fiscal policies, the European Economic and Monetary Union, and crisis management easily understandable, while enhancing everything with his valuable experience. Reflecting on the lessons learned from past crises – financial, pandemic – has provided me with concrete tools to face future challenges with a more informed perspective. Today, I have the honour, on behalf of INSEAD Alumni Association Brazil - IAAB, of hosting a cocktail reception for Francisco Veloso, Dean of INSEAD, during his first visit to Brazil. We will welcome a select group of forty #INSEADalumni to celebrate the 12th #GlobalINSEADDay (marking the anniversary of the opening ceremony of INSEAD's first MBA class at the Château de Fontainebleau, seen in the background of the photo). This year’s theme, "Learn, Connect and Impact," perfectly aligns with our school’s values: Diversity as a source of learning and enrichment, Independence as a governance principle, Rigour and relevance in teaching and research, Closeness to the international business community, and Entrepreneurial spirit. In a recent interview on LinkedIn, shortly after INSEAD’s MBA was ranked as the second best in the world, Francisco shared his vision for modernizing the curriculum, focusing on three key elements: responsibility, sustainability, and artificial intelligence (AI).
