“By thinking and making people think, we help the development of any organization.” Glad to share that last Thursday I delivered my 827th session at IESE Business School. This time in Barcelona. The Tesla Motors business case method discussed with 500 participants (IESE PDD Alumni Reunion). Among the many photos of the event, I think this one stands out. It conveys the desire to share and maximum attention. One of the reasons why I enjoy the sessions at IESE so much is because of the case method methodology. The best translation I have seen of what happens in the winning management committees, in a classroom. What is called the socratic method. A teaching approach that emphasizes critical thinking and active participation thru the use of questioning, rather than simply conveying information. It empowers participants to become lifelong learners who are curious, reflective, and open-minded. I recommend bringing the Socratic method more often to the board and management teams, convinced of its positive impact. I see it and have seen it in successful companies. Very active participation both with raised hands, active listening and reflection throughout the session based on the questions asked. Very good vibes!
