Planning to celebrate the America's 248th birthday?
If your Independence Day plans involve fireworks🎆, we ask that you enjoy them at professional public displays to avoid the dangers of inferior, possibly counterfeit devices. However, if you choose to set off your own, ensure that you only buy from reputable retail outlets and check out these safety tips from our partners at the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
- Never allow children to play with or ignite fireworks, including sparklers.
- Make sure fireworks are legal in your area, and only purchase and set off fireworks that are labeled for consumer (not professional) use.
- Keep a bucket of water or a garden hose handy, in case of fire or other mishap.
- Light fireworks one at a time, then move back quickly.
- Never place any part of your body directly over a fireworks device when lighting the fuse.
