Comp Day Prep Trick! If you're about to compete, or soon to compete in the Nationals, the chances are you'll be competing at a venue that you have never been to before. So, here are a few tips to help you make the most of your stage time: 1. if possible get familiar with the venue ahead of time... even if that is looking at old comp footage or floor plans. Or talk to the event organizers to find out basics such as which side will you be entering stage on (left or right). Find out where the pump up area will be and tanning booths. 2. When you get to the venue, long before the show starts, ask the event organizers if you can walk on the stage, have a look at the lighting, where the line markings are and get familiar with the flooring. For the ladies wearing heels, practice your presentation walk and poses. For all other divisions, practice your routine! 3. Between now and the comp practice posing and your routines / walk on a variety of surfaces so that you're not thrown off on the day by unfamiliar turf! 4. Make sure you practice your routine and walks so that you can easily do it no matter what side of the stage you enter and which line you file off to on the side of the stage. Let us know how the final stages of your prep is going in the comments below!

Is your camera collecting dust or maybe you haven't even taken it out of the box? I know, it feels overwhelming but I am here to make it easy. If you would like to learn how to use your camera and take better pictures, then you should join me this week for my first Photowalk. AC&Co's Photowalk will be on Wednesday, June 5th from 6:30pm-830ish. (rain date is for June 7th). There are 5 spots available for this exclusive hands-on event. I want to make sure each attendee gets lots of individual attention. On this photowalk we will spend two hours walking through the village of Lewiston with a model (aka my daughter Lucia) and navigating real time lighting scenarios and looking for creative compositions. I will be sharing with you my thought process when shooting and all the tips and trick I use along the way (plus my favorite nooks and crannies in the village). All levels welcome. If you are more comfortable in AUTO mode, that's totally fine. I will be encouraging you to at least try manual mode but it's not needed to do this walk. Photowalk fee: $222 (222 are angel numbers that represent a positive and uplifting sign that encourages you to stay focused on your goals, maintain balance, and trust in the journey of life) If you are someone who would prefer a private lesson, reach out. Why do teachers love Horseshoe Tables? Because everyone gets to sit eye-to-eye with the instructor, encouraging engagement and focus. Roll two horseshoes together for a truly connected conversation in the round. This is what configurable spaces are all about! Learn more: https://hubs.li/Q02rzgxJ0
