Check out some inspirational content from Mr. Schnauck!
Ten years ago, John Schnauck hit a wave of professional inspiration in the middle of the ocean. Returning from a year-long sabbatical with his family aboard their sailboat, John knew he wanted to go back to work—but was not looking forward to the grind. He asked his wife, Alexa Evans Schnauck, when he had been happiest in his career. “𝘞𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘢 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘩𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳.” At that moment, their boat was on a broad reach (yes, a sailing term for the wind hitting the sails at the perfect angle). Hence, his new found company name: Broadreach Staffing Solutions. As he scaled his staffing agency to a 12-person team and $1M+ in revenue, John participated in the EO Accelerator right here in Boston. Now, having graduated EOA years ago and recently winning Staffing Industry Analysts, “Best Staffing Firms to Work For 2024,” John has made a huge impact on hundreds of lives. We’re proud John participated in Accelerator and is part of the community! #Entrepreneurship #CareerJourneys #Founder (𝘐𝘯𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘐𝘯𝘥𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘺 𝘈𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘴)

✨ We want to meet *ALL* Head of / CXO in UK VC-backed startups When you work with the likes of Hectare, heycar, Ramp Network and Vertice it's amazing how much more popular you are... And for good reason, these are the hottest companies working on huge missions with leading products and technology. And with £millions raised from leading European / US VCs. One thing jems tries to focus on more than most is the human match between a company, hiring manager and candidate. There are so many brilliant challenges to work on, but if your values don't match it's going to be a tough shift. This is all built on a foundation of honesty -- harder said than done. It means we take the time to really understand how work fits your holistic world view. And as ex-operators, we feel we can understand a role remit (and in turn someone's fit) in a way that just isn't possible as a traditional recruiter. I think that's partly why we've got a 100% fill (and retention) rate after our first year. 💙 So, if you know anyone operating at Head of level or higher, please tag them in this post! They don't have to be looking for a role right now, but when the time comes, we'd love to help 🙏🏼

I might regret doing this, but... I've always been a believer in a "take the call" mindset. You simply never know what could come out of a conversation and new relationship, regardless of how much or how little it seems like it would benefit either party at first glance. Sometimes that does of course mean you spend 15-30 minutes that winds up amounting to nothing. And yes, time is a valuable resource. But I honestly can't count the number of random interactions that led to results such as: 1) Finding my future business partner Joel Trammell 2) Joining EO Austin thanks largely to Chris Taylor and Ryan Tognazzini 3) Making incredible hires for 512Financial 4) Helping others find exciting new roles for their career 5) Developing partnerships that have helped drive our business forward in ways we could not have done without them 6) Landing new clients 7) Finding investors or acquirers for clients/peers/colleagues 8) Meeting Sarah Goodman for lunch and quickly being talked into joining ProVisors So.... Take the call. Accept the intro. You just never know. #networking #growth #austin #fractionalservices #entrepreneurship

Exceptional talent leaves good companies when they choose not to recognize what they have. It's an epidemic in current corporate culture. When Chris Ray and I started Revenue Rocket, we wanted everyone to feel like, and be treated like an owner. The natural thing is equity, right? The uncomfortable thing about equity is that it only has value if there is some massive event. An exit, an IPO, etc. Not to say that it isn't valuable, but it doesn't guarantee tangible value. So we decided to run things with a law firm style partnership program. Literally anyone who joins our company has a path to being a partner and sharing in the revenue the company earns. IT real, tangible value, and it is a 100% meritocracy to the core. We are 3 months into this thing, and I'm proud to say that we have officially promoted and awarded our first partnership. Join me in congratulating Steve Dickerman on joining us as our first partner! From day 1 it was clear....Steve is truly a 1 of 1 kind of talent and his heart for people is undeniable. Not only is he one of the best sellers I've ever met, but he is an even better human being. We could not be more proud to have him on our partner team, and we look forward to promoting many more of our team to partner very soon. Companies, when you have exceptional talent, pay them well, reward excellence, and give your people a reason to buy in more than the salary or the "unlimited PTO." The grass isn't always greener with someone else. It's greener where you water it.

🚀Pulse Recruit is now a month old🚀 🌍It's hard to believe that a month has already flown by since we officially launched the business. What an incredible journey it’s been so far! Starting a business comes with its fair share of challenges, but it's also been filled with some great wins, demand & growth that has exceeded our expectations, and valuable lessons learnt every single day. 💡Here are some reflections from our first month as Co-Founders💡 🌟Relationships are everything: We are beyond grateful of the support from clients, candidates, family, friends and mentors. Our industry connections have been many years in the making and its been overwhelming how many people have gone out of their way to support us...from entrusting us with new briefs to fill, new business introductions, new candidate referrals or advice from fellow Co-Founders, whichever its been, thank you, you all know who you are🙏. 🌟Resilience, passion & drive are crucial: Entrepreneurship demands flexibility, adaptability, and determination. A significant amount of time in the industry has made this as strong as its ever been for both of us and I can honestly say that we are more motivated and passionate than we have ever been about what we do and how we do it. 🌟Treat people as you want to be treated: Giving people the best experience possible has always been a huge priority for us in our capacity as front line Consultants, Managers and now business Leaders. 🌟Learning never stops: Every day presents a new opportunity to learn something new, whether it's about the market, our clients/candidates, ourselves or running the business. Growth and improvement are ongoing and is paramount in everything we do. 🌟The power of small wins: Being grateful and reflective of even the smallest successes, whether it’s meeting a great new candidate, a new client introduction, giving someone advice that costs nothing but makes a material difference to their day, positive feedback, or completing a project. All of this fuels our passion for continuous improvement and positive evolution. 🙏We want to give a huge shoutout to everyone who has been part of this journey so far. Your belief in Pulse Recruit motivates us to keep working hard and delivering value every day. 🤝Making the decision to start your own business is daunting, but having someone by your side who you trust implicitly, bounce off so naturally and who inspires you every day is an absolute game changer...Ricky Burns thank you 🚀 💻Finally, I'm conscious of so many people who have reached out over email, linked in and WhatsApp....I'm working through a huge backlog and I promise I will do my best to get back to everyone as soon as I can, really appreciate your patience...I know its tough out there atm.📞

Be Deliberately Emergent – It’s a #GoFarther Friday A year ago, I was spent. While the funding slowdown impacted the business, my fatigue was really what was holding us back. Revenue lagged, and my energy was worse. 😳 For nine years, I spent every day, every week, every month, every year focused on building, growing and improving our Startup Selling Coaching Program. 🏃♂️ Relentless Forward Progress. That’s my mantra. ⛰ Karan Jain and NayaOne were one of our coaching clients, and over the summer, he asked me – “How do we get more Scott?” I laughed it off, and told him that I had a job with my business, that I was focused on running SalesQualia. He persisted, so we set up custom engagement in which I was working with the team daily, listening to sales calls, running standups and pipeline reviews through the end of year. I kind of liked it – getting back into the day-to-day of leading a sales team and working on gnarly sales opps with the biggest banks & FIs in the world. 🙀 In fact, I had FOMO that all I could do was coach and review, not jump on the calls, run discovery, and lead the demos. In December, he asked me again – “How do we get more Scott?” I had a choice – I could keep to my deliberate strategy I set nearly a decade ago – focus on the coaching business. Find more ways to grow and scale it. Avoid work travel. Play it safe. Or I could look at the opportunity to be emergent, to deviate from my plan. I had to admit to myself and my wife, and to Karan, that I was having fun. The team was stellar. The product was even better. The size of the market opportunity was enormous, and damn, it would be fun to start over like the early days at Blend Labs back in 2013 and grow the company to become the industry standard. 🔥 Now taking in a primary role there, leading the GTM team, opening up the US market, and working as part of a superstar team every day has given me energy and enthusiasm again. 🔥 Yes, have a plan. Focus. Find a routine. Do the work. But every once in a while, it’s worth listening to that little voice that tells you that maybe, just maybe, this new opportunity is worth taking. I’m glad I did. I even had my first Colin this week in London when the team sang Happy Birthday. 🎂 Check out this week’s podcast –: “Be Deliberately Emergent: https://lnkd.in/gyj7hVre Do More. Be Happy. Surprise Yourself. Go Farther. ----- Liking these posts? 1. 👇 Please like & comment below.👇 2. Follow the show on your podcast app. 3. Tell a friend (or 🔟 ...) #leadership #motivation

I see it all the time: Top performers feel stuck. Working at companies with - No product-market fit - No clear career path. - Poor management For the past five years, I've been urging these high achievers to take a chance on themselves. If you're a top performer, you could be a great entrepreneur. Your real-world experience could be worth five times more on the open market. And it doesn't have to be all or nothing. Start with a small side project while keeping your current job. Think about it: How many people would love to have the skills you possess? There are 1B+ people on LinkedIn. Can you find 200 that are interested in your offer? If you believe in yourself, create a 12-18 month roadmap to make the jump. Use your salary and commissions as the capital to fund your new venture! P.S. Don't wait for the perfect moment—it doesn’t exist.
