Did you see the article Kerdyk Real Estate was included in for listing Duffy Tavern's for sale in the Miami Herald? You can read the article in the post below to learn more about the establishment and why it's selling. And congratulations to Duffy's for landing the front page!
If a museum is a collection of important historical and cultural artifacts, a haven for the precious elements that show us all we have been as a community, then Duffy’s Tavern is a museum of Miami. The restaurant and bar, originally built in 1929 as a residence, has been feeding and watering the communities around it with warmth, humor and hamburgers ever since Martin Duffy first opened the business in 1955. Now, the property, right on the edge of Coral Gables, is up for sale, its future uncertain even as the faithful still flock. Read more: https://lnkd.in/di6ghfxc

We are delighted to publish our sixth Noble & Co Whisky Intelligence Report, in partnership with decision intelligence firm Brainnwave. In the report we review the performance of the fine and rare whisky at auction market. The key highlights are: - Volumes at auction are in decline, down by 11% in Q4 2023 vs Q4 2022 - This is mostly being seen in lower-priced bottles, with volumes of bottles selling for £100-£1,000 down by 11.4% and £1,000 to £10,000 down by 9.4% - Average prices are rising but this is predominantly a mix shift due to the weakness at the lower-priced end of the market - Volume declines worsened through December and January, even accounting for seasonality. Bottles selling between £100 and £200 were down by 20% in December 2023 vs December 2022, and 21% in January 2024 vs January 2023 - Most of the major brands have seen significant brand declines. The Macallan noted a very strong value in the quarter due to the sale of The Macallan Valerio Adami bottle - Our data shows that bottles that are “unsold” at auction are not increasing significantly in number overall. This implies sellers are being more careful in putting bottles to auction in a more fragile market - Overall, it is clear that the macro-economic climate is weighing on the auction market. If 2024 is a year of economic recovery, this may feed through to the auction market. - We now have 905,025 bottle sales in our dataset and over 20 million datapoints The full report can be downloaded for free here https://lnkd.in/eBTmR3ew Our thanks to all of those that partnered and assisted on the creation of this report. Our thanks to The Macallan; Sotheby's; Bonhams; Aste Bolaffi; Speyside Whisky Auctions Limited; Prestige Whisky Auction Ltd; Scotch Whisky Auctions Ltd; MALTDAQ; Volpe & Castello Limited; Just Whisky Auctions; Whisky.Auction; The Whisky Shop (Glenkeir Whiskies Ltd); Thought Collective; Martha Moger #Scotchwhisky #auctions #fineandrare #bottles #analysis

Whisky Rarity Fuels Soaring Prices and Investor Interest The prized Scotch whisky industry is booming like never before, with collectors and investors clamouring to get their hands on increasingly scarce and valuable bottles. Rare whiskies have become a hot commodity, with prices at auctions skyrocketing in recent years. Just last year, a bottle of The Macallan 1926 60-Year-Old sought by collectors worldwide sold for a staggering £2.2 million at an auction in London, smashing the previous world record. Distilled in 1926 and aged for 60 years, only 40 bottles of this legendary single malt were ever produced. "Rare whiskies have become liquid gold for investors" said Colin Fraser, a whisky specialist at Sotheby's auction house. "The demand is being driven by the limited supply and by whisky drinkers in emerging markets who are willing to pay top prices." The whisky investment craze shows no signs of letting up, with the total value of rare bottles sold at auction in the UK jumping over 60% in just the last year alone according to industry experts. Bottles from lost or ghosted distilleries that closed decades ago are among the most coveted. For wealthy whisky aficionados and investors alike, it seems the quest for the perfect aged dram has become a obsession that money can't easily quench. The real spirit of Scotland's national drink may have finally met its match. #WhiskyInvestment #rarity #AgedWhisky #barrelaged #investment

The Macallan Is 200 But Is The Whisky Market Done? As we look at the history of The Macallan and the current changes within the secondary whisky market perhaps the infinity symbolism within Macallan’s 200th year logo is more apt than you might first realize.

Record-Breaking Scotch Whisky Art. Like EVERYTHING in Modern Art (that's what it is), it will inflate the prices of all it touches. The Macallan, the featured Artists, Auction Houses, the entire, other, Ultra Premium Scotch Whisky Market. Scotland still has rather a lot of 60 year Old Scotch Whisky, to be marketed, with other Super Premium 'Objet D'Art'. Cars, Clothes, Jewellery, Personalities, Places, Celebrations, Holidays, other decadent, 'lifestyle' 'things'. One Man created an entire Modern Art Industry for Andy Warhol, in only a few Cities, by increasing demand for what are, at the end of the day, just Screenprints. If the Scotch Industry collaborates, emulates The Macallan and works on the 'exclusivity' and 'heritage' angle TOGETHER, there are 145+ Distilleries with a constantly ageing and exclusive Stock, to work with. With Scotch, the unfathomably huge and fairly new, Asian Market will be the one Breaking records, in the race to the first $5 million Bottle. What will it be? If we're cohesive, the knock-on, for Scotch Whisky Tourism is absolutely immense. #ScotchWhiskyTruths

While we knew fairly early on that venues would be critical for us , we earned close to nothing from the category for the majority of our tenure . We could see the customer demand on the platform- it was slowly becoming the #1 category in terms of demand , but the revenue just wouldn’t shape up . We threw every possible model at it - transactional / subscription / assisted visits/ lead wallets / packages / booking amounts etc but no matter what , the lack of growth in venues was honestly infuriating and the metric would not budge for the first 6 years of our existence . In the last 2.5 years however , our venue revenue grew 500% . We expect venues to contribute to atleast 50% of our revenue in the future and become our most critical category . What did we do differently ? Nothing . We just persisted , chipping away bit by bit - Sometimes it’s really a matter of time for the market to mature , and ensure product market fit .

Stepped away from running the venue yesterday and headed to London to give a presentation about how insanely awesome the team and venue is at BOOM BATTLE BAR Along with the other General Managers, Asha Singleton, Isabell Schwenn and Ellis Noonan we all shared ideas and discussed what it takes and who it takes to be a ‘Boom Maker’ 😏Confidence in your uniqueness No two people are the same, embrace the multicoloured hair, the tattoos - the only uniform we ask is a Boom top and a smile 💁🏼♂️Organised chaos In a venue full of guests and staff with music pumping and drinks flowing it’s hard to see who’s where and doing what, but taking that step back and seeing the whole venue, you’ll start to see the friendships forming between staff and guests, the first name basis being established, the laughs shared over jokes and ultimately the easy and natural upsell of a single to a double or a round shots. 🪩 Above all when it comes to our guests experience and immersing them in the atmosphere we create well, all rules go in the beer pong cup or out the window. Having the freedom to take someone’s good night out and to make it an EPIC one they won’t forget but more importantly will want to come back time and time again to try and replicate is exactly how we deliver unreasonable hospitality #boombattlebar #boom #unreasonable #hospitality
