Interesting article (https://lnkd.in/gBvGiKVt) and interesting concept of "Software Delivered Services". Really resonated with us given the work we are doing at bookend.ai. This shift requires a different way of building and selling software, supporting customers and growing the business. Not everyone is onboard yet given some of the questions I get like "But what user interface is your customer using everyday?", "What SaaS tool are you building to run their workflows?", or "So, is this a product or a services business?". We are building a compelling product business that delivers valuable outcomes for our customers. We are excited to work with our forward thinking customers to power this shift. #startuphustle #generativeai #healthcaretech

Hot take: People saying "AI will kill SaaS because companies will just generate their own software" have no idea what they're talking about. They've clearly never built or maintained real software at scale. I think if you yourself are a tech company, this COULD make sense, but even then you’re trading engineering time + stability for a few dollars saved each month. The delta between generating a todo list app and a functional HRIS is much, much larger than most people realize. Instead, as code becomes easier to produce, software will become increasingly sophisticated and capable, and customers will demand higher standards from the products they chose to use.

Weighing the Benefits and Limitations of Low-Code Platforms for Businesses After spending some time experimenting with various low-code tools, I've recognized their potential to streamline development, and the limitations they came with. Here’s my findings: 🚀 Advantages: 1. Speed of Deployment: There's a learning curve, but once you establish a workflow, reusing modules for new projects is straightforward, for example you can easily reuse voiceflow graphs from coach appointment setters to doctors appointment setters. 2. Cost Efficiency: If you are looking for solutions that exists in the SAAS market then congratulation you will save a lot of money. But if your solution needs custom development then low-code solution often require less investment in initial development and maintenance, as they do not necessitate a large team of developers. 3. Ease of Use and Adaption: Many low-code solutions feature excellent user interfaces and integrate well with existing products, allowing even non-technical users to make adjustments to their own CRMs, calendars, and databases effortlessly. 4. Integrated Environment: These platforms often include their own support for deployment, monitoring, and maintenance, reducing the need for additional tools or specialized knowledge. ⚠️ Drawbacks: 1. Limited Customization: While they are flexible, there are inherent limitations in customization capabilities compared to custom-developed solutions. The customization maybe blocked due to the capability of the low-code tools. 2. Dependency on Vendors: Business continuity and feature availability are tied to the vendor’s roadmap and stability. For example I have to write several js scripts to do data cleaning for the records I get from Airtable to voiceflow. Low-code platforms are really great for businesses looking to update their old-school processes without getting deep into custom software development, especially when you've got a lot of manual tasks that could use some standardizing and automating. Are you using low-code platforms, or do you prefer developing custom SAAS solutions? Would love to hear how people balance these options and make your technology decisions.

Empowering non-technical business teams to create custom software directly enables organizations to respond faster to immediate challenges and continuously optimize processes as they learn and adapt. By eliminating the need to translate business requirements into complex technical specifications, AI-driven development removes common bottlenecks and miscommunications, creating a direct link between problem identification and solution deployment. This approach enables teams to quickly design, implement, and adjust tools as business needs evolve, resulting in streamlined operations and reduced development costs. Thanks for chatting with us PYMNTS on how #AI can be used to empower non-technical business teams. https://lnkd.in/gbRrE32n

𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗼𝗱𝗲 - 𝗬𝘂𝗽... Just over a year ago, in June 2023, I set out to rethink how we approach software development or systems building. Back then, it was just a seed of an idea—a desire to break free from rigid, time-consuming processes that keep great ideas trapped in endless planning loops. Fast forward to today, I’ve been quietly building something far beyond what I initially envisioned. 𝗣𝗶𝗲𝗰𝗲 𝗯𝘆 𝗽𝗶𝗲𝗰𝗲, 𝗳𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗯𝘆 𝗳𝗹𝗼𝘄, I’m creating what I believe is the future of software development.. and the future of organisations. So.. I want to share a glimpse into just one of these flows. How do you transform 𝗿𝗮𝘄, 𝘂𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 into actionable software features. You know those dynamic brainstorming sessions or client calls where ideas flow fast and free? Often, the best insights get buried or lost. But what if that could change? What if every conversation could be captured, understood, and translated into deployable software features? What if hours of project scoping could be compressed into minutes? This isn’t just theoretical—it's something we’ve built, and most of it is working right now. (Ask for a demo !) Imagine a system that listens to conversations and pulls out key intents, roles, and dependencies, translating them into structured features. It’s not about automating away creativity—it’s about enhancing it. Freeing up developers, designers, and product managers to focus on what truly matters: creating maximal value. I’ve seen the power of this system firsthand. Conversations that once felt messy or ambiguous are now the blueprints for executable projects. Planning distilled into actionable tasks, features ready to be built. I’m sharing this because I believe we’re at the edge of something extraordinary. If you’re reading this, I know you’re driven by innovation, building something transformative, or curious about accelerating your projects. For me, it’s not about shortcuts—it’s about intelligent shortcuts. Using AI to empower human potential. Technology should serve us, giving back time to focus on deeper thinking, refining experiences, or simply taking a breath in this relentless world. This is just one piece of a much larger vision. There are countless flows I’m working on or 𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳, aimed at streamlining not just software development but entire business processes and... entire business environments. This is a marathon, not a sprint—and I’m only just getting started. If you’re passionate about building, innovating, or transforming how things are done, let’s connect. I’d love to hear the challenges you’re facing and explore how this technology can make a difference. Drop a comment, send a message—let’s push the envelope together. We’re on the cusp of something game-changing, and I believe those who can 𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺 & 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗱 will be the ones to thrive in this new era.

💯 by Ardent Venture Partners Phil Bronner "Right now, it’s estimated that 70–80% of enterprise software is purchased off-the-shelf, with only 20%-30% being custom-built. But that’s about to change. Tomorrow’s reality looks quite different. We predict it could look something more like 60% custom, 40% off-the-shelf as AI flips the script on cost and feasibility." Colleagues CONSTANTLY ask me, "when are you going to do something more scalable than services?" This is why. We're building Prolego as a services company that scales with AI, not lines of code or staff. https://lnkd.in/esD3Bx_t
