To what degree do your organization's daily processes work to develop capability and culture? The default state for most organizations is a mechanical way of working. The focus is on getting stuff done and putting out fires that get in the way. What effect does such a way of working have on your team's level of engagement and energy? A developmental process, in contrast, explicitly integrates reflective rituals. It supports the team to generate a deeper understanding of how they are developing not only as individuals and as a team, but how they are contributing to the development of their departments, organizations, customers, communities, industries, and natural ecosystems. This creates a purposeful sense of direction in our work which generates energy, meaning, and engagement. However, making such a shift is a developmental process in itself. Thinking needs to evolve. Foundational capabilities need to be developed. Simply implementing a new way of working, without first working to build the right foundation, is unlikely to sustain itself. This represents an exciting opportunity for L&D. How can we work to help build this foundation of developmental mindsets and core capabilities? #learninganddevelopment #workplacelearning #agilehr #developmentalprocessdesign Image created with Midjourney AI

Talent Management | Learning & Development | Digital Education | Sales Enablement | Future of Learning
Culture and talent will determine AI’s success in your organization. I recently explored a strategic toolkit from the Institute for Corporate Productivity (i4cp) based on their People Productivity Chain™. It’s a fantastic framework for aligning teams with business goals and making smart strategic decisions, especially when it comes to AI's impact on your learning strategy. Here are some key points to think about when incorporating AI: ⭐ Strategic Advantage: How can Generative AI (GenAI) give you a competitive edge in addressing internal development needs and boosting your talent capabilities? ⭐ Learning Strategy Impact: What effect will GenAI have on your current learning strategy? Think about resource allocation, program development, and daily design work. How are you sharing your strategic vision for GenAI in learning and development? What principles will guide its use in your organization? ⭐ Cultural Readiness: Will your culture help or hinder GenAI adoption? Will your team embrace AI tools or resist them? If there’s resistance, how will you align your team with your vision? ⭐ Leadership Support: How will your leadership support GenAI experimentation and implementation? With L&D resources already stretched, how will you provide the time and resources to upskill your staff for new tools? How will this be reflected in your strategy, processes, and goals? ⭐ Attracting AI-Ready Talent: How will you attract and upskill AI-ready talent? Focus on creating an inclusive and diverse workplace by addressing biases in current AI knowledge and usage. What policies will ensure the safe and effective use of GenAI? ⭐ Productivity Benefits: What are the short- and long-term productivity benefits for L&D? Can GenAI extend capability development across your organization and help you achieve more with less? Most importantly, how will it enhance customer satisfaction? If it doesn’t, what changes in your strategy are needed to get better results? Key takeaway: Integrating AI into your learning strategy isn’t just about technology; it’s about aligning your culture and talent to fully leverage its potential. #AI #LearningStrategy #PeopleProductivity #Leadership #TalentManagement #Inclusion #Diversity #L&D #OrganizationalDevelopment

Empowering Life Science Leaders | Positive Impact Executive Coach & Strategy Expert | Turning Challenges into Triumphs with Science—Driven Solutions & Resilient Mindsets
AI has its place in many fields, but when it comes to coaching, nothing can replace the power of human interaction. True coaching requires intuitive questioning, reading between the lines, and understanding unspoken cues—skills that no AI can master. This is particularly poignant when an empath is the coach, as their ability to connect deeply with others and sense emotions is irreplaceable. It’s in those moments of deep, empathetic listening that real breakthroughs happen. Coaching isn’t just about answers; it’s about connection, insight, and guiding individuals to see what they can't see themselves. AI can assist, but it will never replace the human touch that's essential to the coaching journey.
Let's be clear: AI is a tool – a powerful one – but not a replacement for human insight. At SkillCycle, we believe AI can enhance the effectiveness of 1:1 coaching by handling some of the heavy lifting, allowing humans to focus on what truly matters: connection, empathy, and growth. While "automation" often implies dehumanizing processes, leadership, and development thrive on a human touch. Key takeaways from our latest article: -AI is great at data crunching, but it cannot read the room, provide context, or offer emotional intelligence. -Human coaches understand the nuances of individual experiences, enabling more personalized support that AI alone can’t deliver. -In an increasingly dehumanized workplace, 1:1 coaching helps foster engagement, trust, and real growth. 💡 When we combine AI’s strengths with the people skills that human coaches bring, we create a balanced approach to performance and talent development. That’s how we help individuals thrive – not just survive – in the age of automation. Check out our latest piece, "Beyond Automation: Why Human Coaches Matter in the Age of AI," to learn more about navigating the future of HR in the comments. #AI #Coaching #HRTech #PeopleDevelopment #SkillCycle #Leadership

Preparing your team for AI and Automation (My 5-step guide) AI and automation are transforming the workplace, but is your team ready for these changes? Preparing your workforce involves more than just implementing new technologies. Here are some key strategies to ensure a smooth transition: 1️⃣ Identify Skill Gaps and Provide Training Many employees may feel anxious about the shift to AI and automation, fearing that they lack the necessary skills. This fear can lead to resistance, decreased morale, and even turnover if not addressed properly. Offer comprehensive training programs that focus on upskilling and reskilling your team. Emphasise the value of continuous learning and provide resources for employees to develop new competencies. 2️⃣ Foster a Culture of Adaptability Employees often resist change, preferring familiar routines and processes. This resistance can slow down the adoption of new technologies and hinder overall progress. Encourage a culture of adaptability by promoting a mindset of lifelong learning. Highlight the benefits of AI and automation, such as reduced manual work and increased efficiency. Create an environment where experimentation and innovation are encouraged. 3️⃣ Enhance Communication and Transparency Uncertainty about how AI and automation will impact roles can create anxiety and mistrust among employees. Lack of clear communication can lead to misunderstandings and fear about job security. Maintain open lines of communication about the implementation process, timelines, and expected outcomes. Involve employees in the planning stages and keep them informed about how their roles will evolve. Transparency helps build trust and reduces fear. 4️⃣ Provide Support and Resources Adapting to new technologies can be challenging and stressful. Without adequate support, employees may feel overwhelmed and frustrated. Offer ongoing support through mentorship programs, help desks, and regular check-ins. Provide mental health resources and promote work-life balance to ensure employees feel supported both professionally and personally. 5️⃣ Lead by Example Employees may be hesitant to embrace AI and automation if they perceive leaders are not fully committed to the transition. Inconsistent leadership can undermine efforts to integrate new technologies effectively. Demonstrate commitment to AI and automation by actively participating in training programs and using new tools. Show enthusiasm for the benefits these technologies bring and lead with empathy and understanding as your team navigates these changes. How are you preparing your team for AI and automation? P.S.
