There's one week to go until the final deadline of this year's PRWeek UK 30 Under 30 Awards! So if you haven't submitted an entry yet - for you or one of your teammates, now's your chance. My tip for entrants: think about how you (or your teammate if you're nominating a colleague) have gone above and beyond in your career, delivering on SMART goals and have made a real positive impact in our industry. So be 'Specific', 'Measurable', show how the impact you've made was 'Achieved', tell us why it's 'Relevant' and how it was 'Time-Bound' (when it happened). And above all, let your personal passion come through - show us what makes you, you! Looking forward to reading the entries soon... Honoured to receive the PRWeek UK 30 under 30 Newcomers Award. Massive thank you to Chris Grummett for nominating me and to PRWeek UK for recognising my accomplishments. I’ve had the chance to work with v special people who give me advice, challenge and encourage me in equal measure. Thanks to them, I know what liking a job can feel like. And that's a real privilege. Through my work at the CBI (Confederation of British Industry), I’ve helped effect Government policy change to benefit working parents, advised CEOs + DGs and built meaningful relationships along the way. But I’m not oblivious to the pitfalls of working in high-pressure situations. No matter what your job is, high stress can have a detrimental impact on how you feel about your career, how you feel about yourself. And job unhappiness seems to crop up everywhere you look. The antidote? Starts with unlocking the powerful combo of finding a sense of purpose in your work, and properly looking after your wellbeing. The latter we’ll hear a lot about this #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek, but it’s something that matters every day. Both elements are important to feeling fulfilled at work and beyond. Employers can play a big part in helping people hack that. Always keen to talk PR, policy, health and happiness at work – DMs open.

When I first started in the Industry, speaking on stage was about credibility and content to deliver. Nowadays, it's all paid but these stage topics' popularity has decreased too. I guess everyone is looking for the right business model. Yet, it shouldn't be at the cost of poor content or such only purposed to sell. We used to be way more creative 😁 Which are the conferences you are going to after the summertime? #clinicaltrials #clinicalresearch #conferences
One of our industry's dirty secrets: the vast majority of awards, PR pieces and on-stage appearances are pay to play. Getting nominated usually means coughing up the dough to participate. I don't think it's much different in other industries by the way, and not necessarily bad, but more transparency on those things would be better.

Listening to the song "Life is a Mess" always reminds me of how chaotic my career once was. But then, I decided to take a leap of faith and join a place far from my already distant home. 𝘋𝘪𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢 𝘣𝘪𝘵, 𝘪𝘯 2023, 𝘐 𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘴 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘐 𝘩𝘢𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘭𝘦𝘨𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 Dr. Sarvesh Tiwari, 𝘢 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘣 𝘰𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘰𝘳. 𝘈𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘮𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵, 𝘐 𝘬𝘯𝘦𝘸 𝘐 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘻𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯, PR Professionals Now, back to my story—while it might be too soon to claim that my life is entirely streamlined, I can confidently say that it's on the right track. The internal battle between making the right decision and hoping that a decision turns out right didn’t last long after I joined PR Professionals. I was blessed with a team that became my constant support, guiding my career towards the desired outcome. This is the identity of a strong corporate culture—a place where you can be part of the race yet find time for yourself. Often, organizations fail to become a home away from home, despite the 8-10 hours spent there daily. But I can confidently say that even if I spend half a day in the office, PR Professionals still feels like home. Here, managers manage without micromanaging; you realize this when your work gets streamlined on time, thanks to an external push. For me, that push is Prerna Dalakoti. Her approach, emphasizing that work comes first but always paired with strong character, personify the benefits of a strong corporate culture. This post is a cheers to my team—Shipra Kumar Bhawna Lakhera Guneet Kaur Udayabhanu Mohanty MD Kasim Aditi Jain and Aniruddha Sir—for making this place feel like home away from home. How do I wrap my post without mentioning Sadam Husen who has been a constant mentor, elder brother, and a very supporting colleague. The image is of 2023 awards event mentioned above, where I was behind my present team much ahead of time.

As I usually do I like to share personal stories and how those experiences have impacted me throughout my career. I believe Presence and Engagement within the given industry we are connected to provides great power and influence to how we develop our skills and gain knowledge and just as important (maybe more importantly) - how we contribute of our expertise, insights and perspectives and from those we gain value which is leveraged to benefit our own business, and relationships. The barrier to engagement...most often it's time, second is a monetary consideration. But when one considers engagement as an investment in themselves and their business suddenly perspectives are reconsidered on what they will gain from those experiences. But it takes commitment and effort...there is no magic trick to share. To be a champion, you have to be in the game otherwise the sideline is as far as one can go. https://lnkd.in/g_hdZZ_M

My team and I have been assisting the brilliant Fresh Perspective Resourcing team with the administration side of The Freshies for the last few months. I have thoroughly enjoyed working on this project, but it has highlighted a few things for me that I would like to share with you today. For the last two weeks, we have been facilitating the finalist interviews. There were 10 different categories, each with a panel of judges, for a total of 80 interviews (8 finalists per category… I did need to get my calculator out to add that up!!). Next week, we have the remaining 7 categories, for a total of 56 interviews. The work that goes on behind the scenes in creating these events is HUGE! Before we even got to the interviewing stage, Laura Leyland, Emily Leyland, and the team at Fresh worked hard to find the most amazing venue, advertise the awards, collect nominations for each category, and contact every person individually who had been nominated and shortlisted. We provided each shortlisted person with a badge to share on social media—this helps small businesses show the world that they have been acknowledged for being at the top of their industry. Once the voting had finished and we had our list of finalists, we then contacted each person individually again. This time, every person also received a telephone call to ensure they knew they were a finalist… all 136 of them! Judges have donated their time to sit on category panels – as these awards are for charity. My team and The Fresh team have been communicating daily (multiple times, some days) because, as you can imagine, organising this many people can be a bit like herding cats! This part of the process has many moving parts and requires a lot of patience, but listening to the finalists tell their stories has also made it the most enjoyable part! What has been frustrating, however, is that some people have decided that they don’t want to attend their interview because it no longer suits them. Sometimes, this has been with very short notice, and they have expected us to accommodate by changing the day or time of their interview. This, to me, shows that they aren’t taking their role as finalists very seriously. Or that they aren’t taking ‘these’ awards very seriously. If it is the latter, I am presuming they don’t understand the amount of work that goes into organising these events. This is the 4th year for The Freshies Awards, and they are steadily growing each year. I don’t think it will be long before they are up there with other Northwest awards that have been running for much longer. Like everything, these prestigious events must start from somewhere. They don’t launch in year one, with everyone wanting to win an award. They learn from each year and evolve bigger and better! I can’t wait to see what is in store for the fifth year of The Freshies. TOGETHER ON TOUR: MY FAVOURITE PICTURE OF THE DAY It‘s strange. Each time I come to New York, I try to stay longer than before. To avoid rushing through like a steppe wind and have the time for real quality conversations that not only stirr things up but have real impact. And yet, there is never enough time. Too many amazing people to meet, too many new ideas that are worthwhile pursuing, and too many challenges that are worthile to be looked at from more than one perspective. Today as well was filled with so many memorable impressions that my mind almost overflows. But the image of the day was actually shared with me by Donna Faircloth, the amazing Managing Director of PURPLE US. A snapshot taken during today‘s media training session. I simply love the positive energy, the smiles on their faces. A life on the agency side can be tough, to deliver excellence day by day can be demanding, and serving in PR can be particularly challenging. I know that very well from my own life on the brand side, I am conscious of the fact that I demanded 24/7 availability and fast response times from my PR partners that I used to work with during brand transformations. Literally a business of nowness. The picture reminded me how important it is not only to demand but equally to invest - and that‘s not only a town hall speech or a Christmas party (as important as they might be). But it is also investing in the training and qualification and the personal growth of our people. And whoever thinks that training and education must be dry and energy consuming exercises should take another close look at Donna‘s picture, as it says it all. If you got the right teacher, learning comes with a lot of fun and unleashes great energy (which says a lot about the issue that many schools have with their quality of teachers, but that‘s a different story). Anyway, thank you so much Donna, for sharing that wonderful picture with me, sorry that I could not make it, but I had to leave for an amazing meeting that Oliver Hicks, founder of our production and event agency North Six had set up for me, which was equally inspiring. Something that we might talk about in the not too distant future. With best wishes from New York, Christian #people #leadership #HR #growth #training #career #PR #agency #togethergroup #PURPLE
