Now that we're all back from summer and various other kinds of breaks, I’d like to share something semi-personal that I will work hard to find time to focus on over the coming months and into next year. In addition to my "day job," I also have the privilege of serving as co-chair of the Page Society in Switzerland. For those unfamiliar, Page is the world’s leading professional association for senior strategic communications and corporate affairs leaders, as well as educators. Our membership includes chief communications officers (CCOs) from Fortune-ranked global corporations, leaders from top nonprofits, CEOs of the world’s foremost public relations agencies, and esteemed academics from top business and communication schools. The mission of Page is to elevate the enterprise leadership role of the CCO. We aim to do this by upholding the highest professional standards and continuously advancing the understanding, practice, and teaching of communications. If you're interested in learning more about our regional and global programs or are curious about membership and how to get involved, feel free to reach out to me or my co-chair, Michael Willi. We'd also be happy to invite you to one of our upcoming events, whether in Switzerland or other key markets across Europe, Asia, or the Americas. In the meantime, here’s a sample of what’s coming up, including our 2024 Global Conference in Half Moon Bay near San Francisco in California, at the end of the month. #Communications #CorporateAffairs #ChiefCommunicationsOfficer #CCO #StrategicCommunications #EnterpriseLeadership #Role #PageSociety #ProfessionalAssociation #Membership

Ever been on a panel or planning to be one? Here’s your guide to standing out! 💚 💙 Harvard Business Review has just released an insightful article, "A Guide to Being a Great Panelist", which shares practical tips on how to leave a lasting impression during panel discussions. Whether you're a seasoned speaker or just starting out, being an effective panelist is an invaluable skill in today’s business landscape. Here are a few takeaways I found particularly powerful: 💙 Crafting Your Narrative: It’s not just about answering questions; it’s about telling a story that resonates. 💙 Engaging the Audience: Learn how to read the room and tailor your message in real-time. 💙 Balancing Insights with Listening: Sometimes the best contribution is a well-placed question rather than just sharing your expertise. 💙 Panel discussions are more than just a series of responses—they’re opportunities to showcase your expertise, inspire others, and build meaningful professional connections. If you've got an upcoming panel, or if you'd like to polish your skills for future opportunities, I highly recommend giving this article a read. 💡 Check it out here: https://lnkd.in/eJYP3b5J

Such a thought-provoking discussion from our Special Situations Advisory panel last week. One of my favourite takeaways from the session was that good leadership is only properly tested during a crisis. Some leaders step up to that challenge and others don't. #specialsituations #multidisciplinary #legalandprofessionalservices #astraea
We were very pleased to host our inaugural Special Situations Breakfast Discussion at Claridge’s last week. Our Special Situations Advisors Sir Michael Rake, Kathryn Ludlow and Simon Lewis OBE brought to bear decades of high-level, varied experience in corporate trouble shooting, strategic communications and investigations, taking on the topic of navigating high-stakes situations and threat events. The main takeaway? In a crisis, a leader needs to stand back, think outside of traditional silos and stay “violently calm”. Many thanks to our guests for an engaging Q&A and for the many thought-provoking conversations. We look forward to hosting more of these events. Do get in touch if you are interested in attending. Join us on Tuesday, September 10th at 11:00AM PST for this month’s Lean Coffee session with Liz Lance, EdD! These sessions are a structured yet agenda-free meeting where you steer the discussion so we talk about, and find solutions to, the things that matter most to you. Here’s how it works: 1. Participants submit and vote on topics that they want to discuss with the group. 2. Each topic gets 8 minutes of discussion. At the end of this time, participants can vote to continue or move on to the next topic. 3. Every voice is heard, promoting diverse perspectives and ideas. 4. We conclude with key takeaways, ensuring actionable insights. Reserve your seat here >> https://lnkd.in/g2_q_hXs
