The Macallan Distillery is now taking bookings for their new, superb Dining offer. It's new, so I've not been but it will be magnificent. World Class. I HAVE been to The Macallan, if you like Scotch whisky, it's Scotland's best Visitor attraction.
Lunch is £60 and Dinner starts at £90, so it's not aimed at people who stay in Elgin, Aberlour or Fochabers.
Why on EARTH don't we have a cohesive, joined-up, Scotch Whisky Tourism Strategy and Budget?
Why don't we have ONE App and a fabulous, Dynamic Website, highlighting these amazing Scotch Whisky attractions, springing up, all over Scotland?
The Industry is HUGELY wealthy. A simple Levy, of only a miniscule amount, from the Turnover, of each Scotch Whisky Association Member, it would generate many £millions. FOR EVERYONE, not controlled by one Brand. There are about 100 Members of The Scotch Whisky Association, many with £multi-BILLION turnovers. It's completely crazy that this hasn't already happened?
So, the remote places like Skye, Mull, Islay, the Northern Highlands and Campbeltown would enjoy the oxygen of publicity, too.
