BREAKING: At its meeting today in Paris, the TFWA (Tax Free World Association) Management Committee voted Philippe Margueritte as the new President of the association succeeding Erik Juul-Mortensen, who had declared that he would not be making himself available for re-election. In accordance with TFWA’s statutes, the one-year mandate will run until December 2025. “As my tenure as TFWA President comes to a close, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the TFWA Board, Management Committee, the permanent team and of course the members for their support over the years,” said Erik Juul-Mortensen, outgoing TFWA President. “It has been an absolute privilege to have served this dynamic industry. The Wonder Machine is currently active at London Heathrow Airport, Terminal 2, Hainan Whisky Museum, Mova Mall in China, and Scotland’s Edinburgh Airport. King of Reach by B&S has partnered with Mark Anthony Brands International and Avolta for a series of brand activations focused on the Americas in 2024. The partnership will continue in 2025 in key locations as spirits brands, White Claw Vodka, Glendalough Distillery and Bearface are spotlighted in GTR. Tijn Oomens, Head of Americas Duty Free & Travel Retail, King of Reach by B&S, noted: :The locations selected for our 2024 activations are based on a variety of factors determined by our stakeholders, Avolta and Mark Anthony Brands. Avolta provided a comprehensive overview of available locations, detailing the types of activations planned throughout 2024. Following discussions with Mark Anthony Brands and the brand managers for Glendalough, Bearface, and White Claw, we identified key venues that align with the overall rollout strategy, including the domestic market plan." Kicking off the promotional programme for White Claw Vodka and together with their regional brand ambassador, King of Reach by B&S held a MAB training session at the Sao Paulo Guarulhos Airport location in August. This training was fundamental in improving the sales teams’ technical skills and deepening their knowledge about the brand offer. Ports of Jersey is at the start of a process to redevelop the airport terminal over the coming years, including a new duty free shop, a new restaurant and investment in new technologies to enhance the passenger experience. This follows a previous statement whereby Jersey Airport announced its intention to create a new premium lounge with panoramic sea views and complimentary catering, due to open next year. No1 Lounges Ltd will run the facility, bringing seasonal hot dishes, snacks and premium drinks, as well as unlimited Wi-Fi and charging points as standard, with breakout spaces suitable for groups travelling together. Matthew Thomas, Chief Executive for Ports of Jersey, said: “I am delighted to announce our partnership with No1 Lounges, and we are looking forward to being able to provide this stylish sanctuary from the busy terminal.
