Last week I was in #Hyderabad to attend #Healthcraze organized by PeerCapital on invitation from Rohit M A, combining it with a few meetings in the high energy #healthcare #ecosystem of the city. We met at this awesome place called thequorum at #district150 on a Friday evening, and I could make it there from my Jubilee Hills hotel 6 km away in 15-20 mins at peak traffic in the hitech city - for folks from #Bangalore this is a miracle! Both the local host Prabhdeep Singh and our own Rohit M A were as classy as the venue and pulsating with high energy that flows through the city, and made it an electrifying and engaging experience. On the panel, the right balance for this energy came from Mahadevan (Mahad) Narayanamoni and Prof. Sarang Deo to caution everyone that passion is not enough to scale - one has to deliver the hard numbers! Some nuggets that I gathered during the conversations, both on an off the panel: * Go deep and focus on details to deliver value, #Red Ambulance goes beyond a simple dispatching algorithm by factoring in variables like nature of complaint and insurance availability in real time. (hmm, maybe I should say #go #prabhadeep here ;-) * Rohit had demonstrated at Cloudnine, the ROI of tech by engaging with expecting mothers and their families using digital through their entire 9-12 month journey with delivery. It resulted in higher LTV and even maybe enterprise value, early investment in tech paid off for them. * Stop using buzzwords like #ecosystem #platform etc., answer the simple question what problem will you solve and what is the ROI. The value of AI in healthcare has to be proven in business terms, either it should bring down costs or improve revenues - otherwise it is not going to make business sense. * Solve for the time value of clinicians is the advice from Rohit to #healthtech companies, doctors are extremely busy - never burden them with stuff that takes time away with nothing in return. * Dr Amit Jotwani, MD, MBA (AMPH), FHPRT and other doctors in the audience wanted techies to understand that they carry 'responsibility' on their shoulders. Expecting them to take up unproven tech will not fly, get rigorous validation and trials done before taking the new AI product to market. * and my own #gyan, one of the most important things we can do with tech is improve #trust in the #healthcare #ecosystem - too many people do not follow #medical #advice and become #noncompliant resulting in high cost #sickcare and even #die as they lack #trust. Yes, #trust has a lot to do with #data #transparency as most are aware - however we should not forget the role of #empathy - if nobody cares, lack of trust will continue! Looking forward to the next one Rohit M A - thanks so much for inviting me and friends in #Hyderabad who attended Dinesh Koka Babu Ravi Dr. Pardha Sai V Dr Naresh Yallapragada P.S - delayed post as I was down with the flu since Sat, the energy was too much for the old man!
