Last year, in 2023, the percentage of senior leaders with MBA degrees in India rose to 18%, up from 16% in 2010. Is obtaining an MBA degree essential for reaching the highest leadership roles? Real-life experiences teach the most important leadership lessons, not classrooms. Through hands-on challenges, you develop skills like resilience, empathy, and decision-making under pressure, not just in academic settings. Business schools strive to enhance their students' prospects in uncertain job markets. They have also implemented various measures to achieve this goal, such as workshops, external mentoring, skills development, understanding companies' needs, and evaluating students' profiles. In the corporate world, seizing every opportunity to gain business insights is crucial for success. Internships, in particular, provide practical experience and exposure to real-world challenges, enabling individuals to apply theoretical knowledge in authentic work environments. When considering pursuing an MBA, it is essential to thoroughly assess the degree's relevance within a constantly shifting business environment and its potential to provide the expected return on investment. Use your MBA degree to gain knowledge, recognising that leadership is an ongoing learning and adjustment process. View your degree as a foundation rather than a guarantee. #LeadershipDevelopment #RealWorldExperience #MBALife #BusinessEducation #LeadershipSkills #CorporateSuccess #HandsOnLearning #ContinuousLearning #BusinessInsights

Pursuing an MBA: A Transformative Journey Embarking on an MBA can be truly transformative. Beyond enhancing your business acumen, it shapes your personal and professional identity. I value an MBA for the following reasons: 1. Enhance Leadership Capabilities: Acquire vital knowledge about strategic thinking and efficient leadership. 2. Grow Your Network: Make connections with peers, alumni, and leaders in the field to gain critical advice and access to opportunities. 3. Get Practical Experience: Use what you've learned in projects and internships. Your career path is shaped by these experiences, which also help you get ready for future difficulties. and I introduce the faculty members who teach me personality development; they have the potential to be very influential in shaping my personality. One of my biggest inspirations is Mr. Gaurav Bali Sir, who is well-known for his work on disruptive innovation. Continue developing and learning! Keep learning and growing! #AttachedtomyMBAJourney #CareerDevelopmentPlan #PartofmyMBAJourney #MBA Lovely Professional University, Mittal School of Business - LPU

🔴Are you planning to join an MBA program soon? Think again! 🔴 Congratulations on taking the bold step, but this disclaimer is crucial for all folks joining their dream B-schools soon❗ It's been just around a month since I joined Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode for the IIMK PGP-Business Leadership Program, and I really wish someone had given me a reality check earlier or at least a heads up! Here are some facts: ✴ Intense Learning Hours: 170 Hours, 7 Days a Week, 7 Subjects, Numerous Projects, Countless Assignments, and Dreaded Quizzes! If that's not enough, remember, you need to study independently too. Crunch the numbers now! ✴Competitive Peer Groups: Don't get me wrong, there is peer learning, but I found it to be a fiercely competitive race for even 1 mark, where your performance is more important than anything else. You either push the pedal and learn or get left behind! ✴Teaching Methodology/Content: It's a mixed bag, TBH, but in the end, you’ll have to spend time & learn yourself too. Professors come up with interesting ideas, case studies, and simulations nudging you towards different perspectives, showcasing why having diverse perspectives is important. Do you enjoy learning from stories? Welcome to B School! I’ve felt that someone coming from an undergrad college or a job would surely feel a massive impact and might take time to adjust to B-School life. It's super important to come with a learning mindset and openness to new experiences. It's 🆗 to contemplate your decisions (every day!) or push yourself to the limit. I believe in everything you do at B-School, it's essential to keep your goals in mind while trusting your instincts. That’s the best way to navigate through this chaos. 😎😎 In the end, remember to enjoy your time on campus, have those late night parties, build new friendships, and seize opportunities because, “YOU ONLY B-SCHOOL ONCE!” #MBAJourney #BschoolLife #IIMKozhikode #MBA #CareerGrowth #PeerLearning #Startups #ProfessionalDevelopment #Networking #CampusLife #FutureLeaders #BusinessLeadership #Grow #IIMK #Growth

Over the course of the last few years, through multiple interactions with friends and colleagues, I've come to realise the importance of rotational programs in organizations. These programs help accelerate business and industry learning significantly, while also adding more meat to a candidate's profile. As a student at the Indian School of Business, and having met people from diverse backgrounds now, I see the importance of these programs even more clearly. In my observation, most leadership programs that are rotational are offered only to B-school graduates, leaving many undergraduate employees without this critical exposure. As a result, many young employees miss out on discovering their true potential simply because they didn’t have access to a great program that could've helped them find their calling or develop a well-rounded understanding of the business. In my opinion, while depth of knowledge is important, breadth is equally essential as one grows in their career. The depth helps you become great at what you do, but the breadth lets you see the bigger picture and tie open ends together. For young employees, what better way to start than by giving them an opportunity to rotate across different teams during the first year of employment? What do you think? #ISB #MBA

How Taking Initiative Today Can Shape Your Leadership Tomorrow As MBA students, we often think leadership is something that comes after graduation—when we’ve climbed the ladder and earned the title. But real leadership starts long before the title. It begins with taking initiative now. Here’s a quick example from my own experience: During a group project, things weren’t going smoothly—ideas clashed, and time was running out. Instead of waiting for direction, I stepped up, proposed a plan, and led the team. It wasn’t about having all the answers, but about taking that first step. The result? A successful project and a boost in my confidence as a leader. Why taking initiative matters now: You learn by doing: Leadership is developed through experience, not waiting. Whether in projects, internships, or class discussions, stepping up sharpens your skills. You build influence: Your peers begin to see you as someone who takes charge, which builds trust and credibility. You stand out to employers: Recruiters look for problem-solvers, not just task-doers. Initiative now sets you apart in the future. Leadership isn’t a title—it’s the willingness to step up, take action, and inspire others. The good news? You don’t have to wait to start. What’s one way you’ve taken initiative recently? Let’s share our experiences! IIM Interviewer- Which is the best management text that you have read? Me- Bhagavad Gita Yes, you read it right! The Bhagavad Gita isn't just a spiritual guide; It’s like a treasure trove of wisdom that's incredibly relevant to leadership and management in today's world. Its teachings on decision-making, ethical leadership, teamwork, and self-discipline resonate deeply with the challenges faced in business and management. Interestingly, even someone as significant as J. Robert Oppenheimer, known as the Father of the Atomic Bomb, found inspiration in its principles for effective leadership and decision-making. It's truly fascinating how timeless wisdom can surpass boundaries and disciplines, isn't it? #seo #founderstories #bhagvadgita #krishnaconsciousness #cat #mba #mbainternship #keepmovingforward #entrepreneurialjourney
