We need to start teaching our kids from school about food and health - * How food is grown, how it's manipulated by giving dangerous chemicals. * What is today's generation consuming and its side effects. * Educate about ingredients in packed food and its side effects. * How our health is being affected by consuming such dangerous chemicals in the food. Our schools don't teach us basics, they are busy teaching some unwanted theorems which 90% of us don't even remember or make use of in our daily lives. Dangerous food industries are spoiling our health by giving unhealthy foods and hospitals are making best use of it and minting money. The worst part is, most of these education institutes and hospitals are owned by our politicians. #need_quality_education

#posh #HEI #UGC #aicte *POSH in Higher Educational and Technical Institutes: Ensuring Effective Implementation* Sexual harassment in educational institutions, especially involving professors and students, undermines the sanctity of the teacher-student relationship and impacts individuals and society. The *Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act, 2013* (POSH Act) applies to colleges and higher educational/technical institutes, supported by UGC’s 2015 Regulations and AICTE’s 2016 Guidelines.  Despite this, implementation often faces challenges. Common issues include improper Internal Committee (IC) formation, lack of formal appointments, inconsistent IC member lists, and limited awareness among IC members about their roles and legal mandates. Breaches of confidentiality, management’s casual approach, and treating compliance as a mere formality further dilute the effectiveness of POSH measures.  Anonymous complaints add complexity, as these cannot be formally addressed under the POSH Act. Institutions should establish clear policies for handling such grievances outside the POSH framework.  Proactive steps can significantly improve implementation. These include regular sensitization for students, behavioral training for faculty and staff, capacity-building workshops for IC members, ensuring CCTV surveillance, and fostering a culture where students feel safe to report harassment.  Non-compliance can result in severe penalties, including withdrawal of grants, loss of affiliation, and reputational damage.  To create safe academic spaces, management must lead with a zero-tolerance stance and implement measures effectively, beyond ticking boxes. By doing so, institutions can uphold their responsibility to foster trust, safety, and equality in their campuses.
