👋 We spend too much time focusing on how to onboard employees. 👋 We put too much weight on exit interviews as folks depart. If we really want to center employee development and engagement, let’s instead pivot to 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙗𝙤𝙖𝙧𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 – intentional knowledge building and support that extends well beyond someone’s first few weeks on the job – and 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙮 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙚𝙬𝙨 – conversations with your existing team members about what gets them excited, what leaves them feeling meh, and what will keep them gladly showing up to work day in and day out. It’s easy to focus on the beginning and end of an employee’s life cycle, but the middle is where the magic 🪄 happens. #WorkplaceWellbeing #Everboarding #StayInterviews #EmployeeEngagement

You should most definitely conduct an exit interview if at all possible. -Gives your organization the opportunity to gather feedback from departing employees -You can identify patterns and trends by analyzing the data over time. -They provide a platform for employees to express their concerns, grievances, or suggestions, allowing your organization to address any unresolved issues that may have contributed to their decision to leave. - Comparing exit interview data across different departments or locations can help identify variations in employee satisfaction, engagement, or concerns. In summary, exit interviews are important because they offer insights into employee experiences, identify patterns and trends, retain valuable knowledge, improve the employee experience, and provide benchmarking opportunities for organizational improvement.
