👋 We spend too much time focusing on how to onboard employees. 👋 We put too much weight on exit interviews as folks depart. If we really want to center employee development and engagement, let’s instead pivot to 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙗𝙤𝙖𝙧𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 – intentional knowledge building and support that extends well beyond someone’s first few weeks on the job – and 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙮 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙚𝙬𝙨 – conversations with your existing team members about what gets them excited, what leaves them feeling meh, and what will keep them gladly showing up to work day in and day out.
