The Difference between Sales and Marketing
A bad product has no voice. But a good product sings itself. Yet a good product must be given the chance to sing, if not, it's as good as a bad product which has no voice.
Marketing is the audition. Sales is the performance. A good performance always draws applauses. Like the performer or not, you will give them their flowers.
I, for one, as a football fan, I don't like Pep Guardiola. Because I believe he's coaching the wrong side of Manchester, and he's terrorising me. But can I deny he's a top performer? No!
It's hard to resist a good product. Even when you have no immediate need for it, you create a scenario or a space that will accommodate it in the future.
And that's what we did with the production of our book.
There is no one. There is absolutely no one who has handled our book and their first word wasn't, 'wow' . And when they delve in? They become like the siren with exclaiming, 'wow, wow, wow'.
Here, quality of production meets quality of content. And the result? Conversion.
Even with limited promotion and all the hurdles that impeded us in its year of publication, we have done a great volume in sales and won the most important authors award in the country.
