Hello LinkedIn Family 🚀 !! I just finished reading How to Win Friends & Influence People by Dale Carnegie, and it’s truly transformative. The book emphasizes the power of a smile, the importance of remembering names, showing genuine interest in others, avoiding arguments, and offering encouragement instead of criticism. These simple yet profound principles have reshaped how I approach relationships and communication. Highly recommend this classic to anyone looking to enhance their interpersonal skills ! #reading #dalecarnegie

Clear expectations strengthen relationships, while unrealistic or unspoken ones can cause issues. Expectations need to be grounded in reality and communicated often. Expectations based on fantasy will only hinder the connection with your partner. I’m 12 books into 2024 and this book by Christopher Voss is an absolute standout!! Brilliantly written with highly engaging stories that detail the actual words and approaches used, what worked/didn’t work and why. Absolutely love the level of EI adapted to really understand each individual situation and human being, the tactical empathy and the ‘black swan’. Skills that can be adapted to any interaction between people. Simple and easy to follow. This is my favourite communications book ever and highly recommend. 5 stars from me. #emotionalintelligence #negotiation #communication #books Shil

Day 5 Advent Reflection: For today's Advent Reflection, Sandra D'Angelo suggested a great book #recommendation for improving #communication #skills. It is titled "Never Split The Difference" by Chris Voss. I read some reviews about the book online, and it talks about how #negotiation is so present in our #work lives. Whether it be #salary, #paidtimeoff, or other related accommodations, #negotiation is involved. Something surprising that stuck out to me while reading these reviews is that we should incorporate #emotionalintelligence and #empathy in our #negotiation. In any case, it is important to draw on important non-verbal cues and body language, see the other person's perspective, and be an #activelistener. #Communication is key to every aspect of life-- and, I am considering getting a copy of the book. I'm interested to hear from you: Are you a good communicator or negotiator? What do you believe are the keys to effective #communication? Have you read this book-- if so, please tell me more!
