When it comes to living in Shrewsbury, MA, I see families light up when they hear about the education system here. 🎓 The decision to move and plant roots in a town isn't just about the house; it's about the future of your kids too. Today, let's talk about why Shrewsbury isn't just a place to live, but a place to thrive: 🍎 Top-notch Schools: Shrewsbury boasts some of the highest-ranking schools in the state, with a focus on innovative learning and all-round development. 🎲 Extracurricular Excellence: From state-winning robotics teams to music programs that inspire creativity, Shrewsbury's extracurricular ecosystem is designed to discover and nurture your child's unique talents. 👩🏫 Community Support: It’s not just about what occurs inside the classroom. The town's community programs, events, and resources support educational pursuits at every turn. Safety & Serenity: A safe and peaceful environment is crucial for learning, and Shrewsbury offers this in spades, providing families with peace of mind. As a real estate expert at That's My Town servicing MA, CT, and RI, I've had countless conversations with parents. They often share one common desire: securing the best possible education for their children. It's why our team goes the extra mile, sometimes quite literally, cold-calling owners if that's what it takes to find your perfect home in the right neighborhood. Because here's what we believe: finding a home isn't just about the number of rooms or the square footage; it's about finding a place where your kids can flourish. For homeowners considering selling, remember that the value of your home is not just in its walls and floors but in the community and the educational opportunities it holds for buyers. Are you looking for a place that will be more than a home? A place where your children can prepare for a bright future? Let's chat about why so many families choose Shrewsbury. 📈 #RealEstate #ShrewsburyMA #Education #CommunityDevelopment #FamilyFirst

As a state so heavily dependent on tourism, legislators should balance education benefits with the economic impact of changing school start dates. While Horry County has been a hold out (for now) our base of tourism who drive here from the rest of SC and the surrounding states has dried up putting a halt on peak revenue season as much as a month early. Not to mention summer work for teachers becoming less realistic with a shrinking summer sabbatical. Our entrepreneurs in Retail and Hospitality will continue to suffer from these changes that aren’t analyzed thoroughly enough. https://lnkd.in/e2PATDbv

At the heart of the 2024-2025 Toronto Lands Corporation Annual Plan is a simple but powerful mission: to create spaces that empower students, support staff, and uplift entire communities. 💙 Our why is deeply rooted in the belief that where we learn, grow, and connect shapes who we become. By unlocking the potential of Toronto District School Board properties, we’re not just managing real estate—we’re investing in futures. Imagine schools that inspire creativity and innovation, public spaces that bring neighbors together, and communities that thrive because we’ve reimagined how we use our shared assets. That’s the vision driving us forward. We’re here for the students who deserve modern, forward-thinking schools. For the staff who dedicate their lives to shaping young minds. And for the communities that deserve spaces where people can truly live, learn, work, and play. 🌱 In the 2024-25 fiscal year, TLC is aligning every effort with TDSB’s mission to build a better future—one property, one student, and one community at a time. This is why we do what we do. Because the spaces we create today can spark the opportunities of tomorrow. Want to learn more? "Culture eats strategy for breakfast." (Drucker, 1991.) Flexible working, with careful planning can ensure better staff engagement and thus better productivity. Great to see this initiative in a school Solihull led by Stuart Shelton. Whilst we may not be able to accommodate such structural change, but as school leaders, we must ensure the emotionally intelligent mindset to show consideration to employees and shape the work culture. A couple of easy yet mindful things are: ● allowing staff to attend the children's school events ● or recognising and giving time off in lieu (TOIL) for support or site staff (who are often paid a lot less than teaching staff and have less annual leave) who you know have been staying back late in preparation for an event Of course such things need to be carefully managed by knowing your staff and their needs, in order to avoid some taking advantage and others jeopardising any policy or practice. Where it goes wrong is where these 'perks' are weaponised and used with bias by school (mis)leaders where some are given the time off but others aren't even if it is for the same 'request' or where some are recognised or seen to be given credit but others are overlooked for the same event/activity. #culture #workplace #mindfulness #EQLeadership
