💼 From Stay-at-Home Mom to MBA Graduate: Elizabeth’s Inspiring Journey In 2018, Elizabeth found herself at a crossroads. After 13 years as a stay-at-home mom, she faced life as a newly single parent without a degree or a clear path forward. But Elizabeth is nothing if not resourceful. Through local connections, she discovered workNet DuPage—and with determination and our support, she took the first steps toward building a new future. With funding from workNet DuPage, Elizabeth trained at College of DuPage to become a paralegal. It wasn’t easy—she even brought her kids to class when childcare fell through—but her drive and resilience paid off. She flourished in her new role as a paralegal, and her passion for learning only grew. Fast forward to today: Elizabeth is a full-time paralegal and a certified notary public, but that’s just the beginning. She earned her associate degree in 2020, her undergraduate degree in 2022, and her MBA in 2024—all while mentoring others and volunteering in the community. Elizabeth is a first-generation student, a dedicated mom to her children (her son is following in her footsteps, studying law at NIU), and a role model in so many ways. She mentors future business leaders at Elmhurst University and shares her experiences with aspiring paralegals at College of DuPage. She even volunteers with legal aid and the DuPage County Bar Association, giving back to the same community that supported her. Her story is proof that with hard work and the right support, it’s possible to break barriers and achieve incredible things. We’re honored to have played a role in Elizabeth’s journey and are so proud of her success. Elizabeth, thank you for showing what’s possible and making a difference in DuPage County. Your story inspires us all! 📣 Help us celebrate Elizabeth’s accomplishments below!
