BOOKMARK THIS 📖 Our three biggest tips for BFCM sending: 1. Schedule your campaigns between the 20-:30 or 35-:45 minute mark during any given hour. You'll see the same EPM and CTR but compete with much less traffic. 2. Use SMS over MMS from November 26th through December 3rd. With traffic being at all-time highs, keep your campaigns sleek and save the images for post-BFCM. 3. Remember, all SMS platforms use the same pipes to send messages to subscribers. #1 skill I’ve seen consistent across sales reps Is their ability to stay organized. It doesn’t mean unorganized reps can’t be successful, I know plenty that are. But a rep that can consistently execute a process will win a lot more often. This goes for: - Prospecting - Deals in early stages & follow up - Deal alignment with multiple stakeholders - Multi-threading - etc. Sadly, most deals are lost due to poor organization and follow up. $14.2B in #PrimeDay2024 sales? Let's learn from it. 🔍 Here's how ecomm brands can adapt: 1. Offer Steep Discounts: Deep discounts drove Prime Day's record-breaking $14.2B sales. Consumers are loving high-value deals. If you can, plan similar discounts for Black Friday and Labor Day. 2. Seasonal Timing: Prime Day's success was partly due to its timing with back-to-school. Don't sell backpacks, pens, and notebooks? You can still plan a big sale around Labor Day. For example, if you sell industrial supplies, you can align your promotions with industry events or end-of-fiscal-year periods when businesses might restock! 3. Flexible Payments: "Buy now, pay later" boosted sales by 17%, showing that consumers want the flexibility to pay for products. If you offer BNPL, we recommend you highlight it prominently. If not, consider offering layaway plans or extended payment terms to make higher-priced items more accessible and appealing! 4. Leverage AI: Amazon used its new AI tool (check out Rufus — seriously!) for deal suggestions. And yes, we know: we can't all be Amazon. And you don't have to! Even without AI, you can analyze customer data to personalize recommendations. Simple tools like smart recommendation tools and segmented email campaigns can mimic AI benefits by offering tailored shopping experiences. There’s zero silver bullet in outbound sales in 2024. I promise. No single product, Sales leader, Data cleaning tool, Messaging iteration, Consultant (myself included), Customer, Cold call script, Advisor, Agency... Blah blah blah That’s going to solve all your outbound problems. But you CAN find leverage in each of these. Shoot for 2-5% across a few. Some might move the needle 20%, some might not move it at all. Find the right ones and double down.

SDRs: When you set a meeting for your AE, it’s like setting up a blind date for your prospect. So get your prospect excited to meet with your AE! Put yourself in the prospect’s shoes. You get a call from someone you don’t know, from a company you haven’t heard of. They do a decent job in the call and you’re intrigued. And then… They set you up for a call with someone else. This process feels like a nurse handing you off to a doctor. Who will then ask you the same exact questions the nurse did. Not a great experience. Let's do better. Here’s how to pull this off: ✅ Tell the prospect what they’ll learn First, ask your AE what prospects learn from their first conversation. This excludes any language about platforms or dashboards. I’m talking education around “why change?” Second, watch a recorded disco/demo from your AE. Or ride shotgun in a few sales calls if your company doesn’t record them. Here’s an example of what this might sound like at the end of a cold call: “I’m really excited for you to meet with __________. You mentioned that staffing welders and figuring out how to automate high mix/low volume parts are top priorities. My Account Executive will walk you through how other manufacturers are solving these two problems so that you’re not having to push back orders. You’ll also walk away with a plan for how you can tackle traditionally tough to automate products.” Don’t mention “demo” at all. ✅ Humanize your AE Talk about your AE’s experience. Hype them up. After you tell the prospect what they’ll take away from the call with your AE, you could end with: “Oh, and ____________ has about 7 years of experience walking the plant floor. Not to mention, he’s had dozens of conversations with Operations leaders in the last 6 months. There are some really big trends we’re seeing and everyone’s dealing with the labor shortage right now. You should get a few ideas you can bring back to your team." --- Lesson here: Take that extra step at the end to talk up your AE and get the prospect excited about them as a HUMAN + what they can learn in that first call. ~~~ This is a great way to improve show rates.
