Working for founders transforming global systems.
About us
Third Sphere works for founders transforming global systems. We’ve made over 100 investments in notable firms like Cove Tool, OneWheel and Bowery Farming. We’re usually a pre-customer investor and offer traditional venture as well as credit finance, along with coaching and connections to over 12,000 customers, investors focused on re-imagining our planet. Our team is ranked in the 99th percentile of climatetech investors on NFX Signal, and Techcrunch named us one of the top 10 VCs founders love the most. We know that climate is about more than carbon—it’s also about force multipliers like asset finance and distribution. We believe the best climate solutions don’t look like climate solutions at all, just better, faster, and cheaper products and services. We prefer rapid deployment that will get us close to 1.5C in warming while upgrading our systems to make them more resilient. But we’ll also look at moonshot opportunities because we know we need a plan B. [VC] A real investment is about more than capital. We invest at the earliest stages, usually pre-customer, stay close to our founders, and work with them from the inception of our relationship so they can build relationships with other founders, investors, and customers. [Credit] Our investments are designed to minimize dilution and preserve ownership for your team without compromising on rapid growth and impact. That’s why, in addition to venture investment, we lend and create asset finance structures like leasing vehicles. [Platform] The Third Sphere platform helps to connect portfolio founders with leading founders, investors, and customers in climatetech. We use it internally to source the most promising investments and to make introductions within our network in order to increase our portfolio’s chances of achieving rapid impact at scale. [History] We probably look familiar. We used to be known as Urban Us. Here's what's changed - https://hubs.li/Q014-Jsb0

TSI 2024 – What an Amazing Experience! 🔥 Last week, I had the chance to present FireDome on stage at the Shark Tank session during TSI Oklahoma. I shared how we’re protecting communities from wildfires, answered sharp questions from the sharks 🦈, and had fascinating discussions with Fire Chiefs and Fire-Tech experts about our technology and approach. Beyond the stage, I got so much out of the summit – insightful lectures, hands-on workshops, and connections with truly inspiring people. I also finally met some LinkedIn connections in person, which made the experience even more special 🤩. And yes, before the summit, I got to enjoy a true American classic – an NBA game! "If you’re like most people, you haven’t spent much time thinking about how the electricity markets work. But it’s time to pay attention. After decades of flat electricity load growth, we are entering a super-cycle of increasing demand, setting the stage for rapidly increasing electricity prices in household utility bills. " Check out the latest piece in Fast Company from our CEO Andrew Meyer on how a broken system is failing us - and where we need to go next. 💡 ⚡ https://lnkd.in/gjdXgzCi

Thank you Adi Naor Pomerantz and Gadi Benjamini for allowing us to join this important work. And thanks to Uriel Klar for introducing us. It's easy to forget that once fire hydrants or fire sprinklers didn't exist. So we hope in the coming years people will find it hard to imagine what we did before FireDome in the communities that now face increasing risks from wildfires.
Introducing FireDome – providing communities with a wildfire resiliency service! In early 2024, during an Epsilon ε conference, Adi and I had a transformative realization: the wildfire crisis demands immediate action and cutting-edge technology to safeguard vulnerable communities. That moment marked the birth of FireDome. Our values were aligned: 🌎 Make a global impact that will influence the safety of next generations. 🛡️ Create real value to communities using top-tier technologies 🤝 Forge partnerships as force multipliers to make our vision come true. ✅ FireDome definitely checks all these boxes! Our journey so far was intriguing – engaging with members of communities, admirable Firefighters that risk their lives to keep those communities safe, leaders from the public and government sectors and fellow entrepreneurs that share a vision of a more resilient and adaptive world to climate change. To my better (professional) half, Adi Naor Pomerantz, you’ve been the best partner I could ever dream of – you are a visionary, combining natural born tech leadership, top-tier planning and execution skills and brutal honesty that leads to constant improvement. To our amazing investors – we are honored to have you shoulder-to-shoulder on the team and grateful for your support so far. Zafrir Yoeli Bracha Halaf Shaun Abrahamson Yonatan Brender Dr. Carolin Gabor Yanai Oron. We also wish to thank the Israel Innovation Authority רשות החדשנות for the trust and belief in our vision. To our advisory board members – your immense knowledge and experience are priceless for us to conquer the milestones and make our vision a reality. Brig.Gen.(Res.) Pini Yungman Seth Schalet Gabriel Gross Lior Libman And finally, we are most proud of the out-of-this-world team we’ve built to tackle this huge challenge and are confident that together everything is possible. With Trump returning to the White House with a Republican-led Congress, his policies are likely to impact climate action and immigration, reshaping the landscape for founders. Founders are already being asked by investors what shifts like threatened federal programs and potential DOE rollbacks to looming challenges in international cooperation and immigration, mean to their company. There are some positives like resilient state programs, stronger adaptation focus, and opportunities for exits and scaling “faster, better, cheaper” climate solutions. Planning ahead will be key—especially in funding, customer needs, and talent access. More below.

Thrilled to share S2G’s announcement of its investment in Urbint. We look forward to helping Corey Capasso and the team scale their risk-mitigation solutions. Yilin Huo Miles Russo Energize Capital Blue Bear Capital National Grid Partners Climate Investment (CI) ZOMA Capital
We are excited to welcome Urbint to the S2G portfolio! Urbint's AI-powered risk-mitigation solutions enable utilities to identify threats and target their resources to prevent incidents and improve safety and reliability. Many of the largest utilities in the country trust Urbint to help them protect underground infrastructure, prevent serious injuries and fatalities, and respond to and restore power faster after major weather events. Our investment in Urbint will help position the company to further develop its resiliency and storm response solutions for utilities, as an already devastating hurricane season is not yet over. Congratulations, Corey Capasso and everyone at Urbint!
