Clean the World was thrilled to be part of the ESG Hub again at this year’s Independent Hotel Show London! Our UK & Europe team, led by Tommie Eaton and Austin Eaton, joined forces with Sarah Duncan (author of The Sustainable Business Book), Grace Greensitt from the Global Sustainability Index, and Mark Glenister from The Burnt Chef Project to explore hospitality’s role in sustainability. This year’s standout? The Sustainability in Action Wall, where attendees shared their biggest challenges—waste management, eco-friendly packaging, Scope 3 emissions, and more. 🌱 The passion and commitment from hoteliers show that the industry is ready for change, and we’re here to help make sustainability a core part of operations. Stay tuned as we share insights gathered from the event! Huge thanks to Sarah, Grace, and Mark for helping make this a success! Together, we can make a real difference. ✨🌟 Sustainability Bites: Circularity in Action article now out ✨🌟 We held our second round table at Hyatt Place London City East with some fantastic experts from the tourism, hospitality and sustainability sector talking about circularity, the challenges and why hotels need to embrace it. Hosted by Michael Mason-Shaw regional director of operations for Cycas Hospitality and Felicity Cousins editor Sustainable Hotel News. Key points we discussed: 👉 The importance of reducing waste and pollution and the need for better waste management infrastructure, such as recycling systems and take-back schemes 👉 An agreement there needed to be a shift in the focus from recycling to regeneration, highlighting the overconsumption of natural resources; 👉 The role of innovative suppliers in providing sustainable solutions; 👉 The importance of storytelling in sustainability; 👉 The challenges of balancing sustainability with consumer expectations; 👉 The need for government support and industry collaboration; 👉The importance of biodiversity plans in hospitality and regenerating natural capital; 👉 The financial sector's role in driving sustainability through reporting requirements and how compliance and best practice with ESG strategy will help. Great insight from experts at the table Bryan O. head of sustainability Studio Moren, Juliane Caillouette Noble managing director The Sustainable Restaurant Association, Debbie Hindle chair of International Centre for Responsible Tourism global, Joanne Taylor-Stagg General Manager The Athenaeum Hotel and Residences and Tommie Eaton from Clean the World and CEO and founder @BambuuBrush® | B Corp™ #circularity #foodwaste #hotels #waste #scope3 #ESG #recycling #circulareconomy #hospitality #responsibletravel Esther Bell

My Place Hotels recently hosted the 2024 My Place Convention in #TucsonAZ, and Clean the World was among the vendors in attendance. During the convention, attendees participated in assembling hygiene kits for Clean the World, which were donated to a local shelter in Tucson. Additionally, 100 kits were assembled by the My Place team members, and donated to the Aberdeen Foster Closet in #AberdeenSD. “When hotels choose to join our program, they help divert plastic bathroom amenities from landfills and transform soap bars that would otherwise be discarded into new, life-saving soap," Robert Montgomery, VP of Hospitality and Product at Clean the World, said. "This initiative not only reduces pollution and conserves water but also cuts carbon footprints and supports global communities.” We're honored to have a small part in this great endeavor! #MyPlace #CleanTheWorld #hotels #travel #partner #global Pictured below, from left: Cheryl Sivertsen, Foster Closet; Suzette Hanna, Director of Franchise Operations at My Place; Megan Kukowski, Marketing Communications and Partnerships at My Place; Heather Smith, Foster Closet
