I honestly feel that 9-5 does not apply to Service companies. 8 hours work is a myth. Brutally Honest, Majority of times we find ourselves engulfed in team discussions ,meetings and follow ups, which ends up taking our productive time And the work that really matters falls aback or is done late after office hours. Romanticizing working late hours and on weekend is a wrong thing to do. It doesn’t matter how many hours you are working. What really matters is the output. Whatever work you have done is it really fruitful ? With the evolution of AI and wave of Automation everywhere , most of the employees will find themselves having lot of free time, with work culture evolving into " Work as you go" Way. Hence , keep learning new things, since Knowledge is where the real power lies. A message to Young professioanls- Work is Worship, But Health is God. Prioritize yourself and your family because they matter the most !

ERY IMPORTANT - DON'T MISS TO GIVE YOUR FEEDBACK* ICAI proposes different criteria for entitlement to train articled assistants. One of these is TURNOVER of the firm in addition to the existing criteria. It is not clear whether turnover based criteria will replace the existing criteria or it is in addition to the it. I strongly feel that the turnover criteria is not suitable to decide the number of articled students your firm can train even when it is one of the criteria for 2 reasons- 1. It will substantially reduce the eligibility of new and SME practioners. 2. can create implementation issues since the turnover can be flexible 3. ITR ≠ Income Tax Refunds BUT Income Tax Returns: ❌ It is annoying that many people get away with claiming fake deductions and exemptions I know people who have done the following and have never got an IT notice: 1️⃣ Claiming fake HRA deductions ↳ They claim higher rent than actually paid ↳ Use a random PAN number to claim HRA 2️⃣ Claiming fake Donation deductions ↳ Donate to NGOs and take it back post a cut ↳ Donate to political parties and take back cash 3️⃣ Don't show income from other sources ↳ Don't declare income from capital gains ↳ Don't show income on interest etc. There are many other items they do not report. It should be so easy with AI and other tools like the AIS form to track this down. Yet, I see people getting away with this for years. I am just worried that the honest tax payers will also start doing this seeing others get away. 🏦Let’s Fix Finance - 27’10 Source: How Finance Works 🚀Principle of conservatism: Company’s balance sheet will not truly tell the picture of assets, it may not include intangible assets because accountants cannot precisely tell the value of those assets. Making it become ‘Mr. india’ in their own balance sheet. But... surprisingly the acquiring company will have to record the value of intangible assets (known as goodwill) in their balance sheet after acquisition as they spent additional from total assets of acquired company. 🚀Preferred Stocks: Company lends preferred stock to shareholders when they are in bad shape, it secures the money of shareholders as they have fixed pay dividends (debt claims) before common stockholders & their money will also be paid first if comp goes bankrupt (equity claim). Eg: Venture capital firms- which lend money to new entrepreneurs also get preferred stocks to be in safer side. 🚀Net worth: Assets-Liabilities = Shareholder’s equity = owner’s own money invested in company. The number of candidates has doubled, but the demand remains the same. Here's the practical situation: 1. **Initial Consideration**: Candidates often start by considering roles that align with their interests and passions, such as Transfer Pricing (TP), Investment Banking, Financial Due Diligence (FDD), etc., based on current trends. 2. **Adjusting Strategy**: After receiving fewer responses, candidates typically shift their focus to profiles with more job openings to ensure they have a safety net. My advice is to stick to one plan and not rush. It will take time, so be persistent with your job search and preparation. **P.S.** Internal audit roles have the most vacancies in big cities. 😊 #new_jobs #icai #result

The recent devastating news from EY Pune about a young Chartered Accountant succumbing to extreme work pressure is a stark reminder of the harsh realities that many professionals face. What is even more appalling is that nobody from her workplace attended her funeral—this speaks volumes about the current work culture🥹🥹 While we chase success and growth, we must ask ourselves—at what cost? The demands, the pressure, the sleepless nights—it’s time for all of us to rethink the environments we create and accept. No job or achievement is worth sacrificing one’s mental and physical health.
