• The NFRA fined M/s Venkatesh & Co ₹2 crore for professional misconduct in the 2019-20 Coffee Day Enterprises audit. • Auditors Dasaraty V and Desikan G were banned for 10 and 5 years, respectively. • Dasaraty was also fined ₹10 lakh, and Desikan ₹5 lakh. • The penalties stemmed from a Sebi report revealing a ₹3,535 crore fund diversion from Coffee Day subsidiaries to Mysore Amalgamated Coffee Estate Limited. • The auditors failed to report the fraud and protect public interest. • The order will take effect after 30 days. • In August, NFRA fined KPMG affiliate M/s BSR & Associates LLP ₹10 crore and debarred two auditors for lapses in the 2018-19 Coffee Day audit.

Usually BIG 4s have 3 rounds: Aptitude Test, GD(Group Discussion) and PI(Personal Interview). => 𝐀𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞 𝐓𝐞𝐬𝐭 - Talking particularly about commerce background in undergrad, the aptitude will be MCQ based and will usually have questions based on 11th12th accounts, financial accounting, quantitative aptitude and verbal ability questions. ~ If you prepare even for 4-5 days, you would be able to crack it. => 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 - It is the most interesting amongst all the other rounds. Remember few points to crack it: ~Always try to start or conclude the GD. ~Don't run behind speaking more, say valid points with confidence and give chance to others as well. ~Don't give blanket statements and don't try to prove anyone wrong. What is happening with working CA's? Again a 20 year old article lost her life due to overworking! We all are only focusing on EY. But is it only EY? I feel it is not only EY not only KPMG not only PWC not only Deloitte. The real reason is people. People who are forcing them to stretch working hours. Big shots who are supporting 70 hrs working week. People who don't have the courage to say no at the workplace due to fear of losing their job Now it's high time to prioritise health over everything. 📢 ICAI Elections 2024 It’s heartening to see many professional colleagues raising concerns about ICAI elections and governance. Among these concerns is the use of ICAI funds for seminars and conferences, which may indirectly benefit #Council members. In my personal view, proving such a claim is challenging. Some of these programs are genuinely beneficial and align with the Continuing Professional Education (CPE) requirements. While the decision-making process around these programs and fund allocation is a separate debate, there is an opportunity for practicing members to derive indirect benefits if approached strategically. These programs allow CCMs to stay connected with faculties, speakers, moderators, and of course CA influencers, creating a strong professional network. For practicing members, this is a positive development. However, members in the industry might feel overlooked, as their specific needs often remain underrepresented in such initiatives. Rather than expecting too much, members can leverage these programs as effective networking #opportunities. Who knows? You might find yourself as the next speaker or moderator at one of these events! TCS CTC for CA Campus Hi All, I've seen many posts and a lot of frenzy around the CTC offered by TCS. I don't want to comment on whether it is low or high, nor do I wish to discuss the ICAI's minimum ₹9L guideline for campus placements. I just want to clarify a few things: 1) The fixed CTC is not 3.86L but is actually around 6.39L. 2) 3.86L is just a component in the break-up mentioned as "Fixed Pay". The title might've created the confusion 3) For Freshers attending Campus placements, please consider the fixed pay of 6.39L and inquire about the details of the Variable pay and Semi Variable components e.g., whether these components will be paid in full or at the company's discretion. Is it worth to be 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐝𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐝? It took me a month to resign after deciding to quit PwC India, buy why? Yes, back in 2021, I made the 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐭, but I wanted to give a month to honor the trust and support I’d received from my partners, mentors, peers and juniors over 8+ years of #PwC journey. Notice periods often mean 𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞, but I saw this time as the 𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐣𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲. It’s easy to pass through a notice period, but 𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐥 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬 over a few weeks? During my notice period, I committed to maintaining my work ethic and relationships—both internally and with clients. Here’s how I approached it: ▶️ 𝐍𝐨 𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐡 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 – I took time to listen to the partners and mentors and make sure I heard them and respected their point of view. ▶️ 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐫 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 – Some discussions with partners lasted hours and offered valuable insights. ▶️ 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬, 𝐧𝐨 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦 – I took on projects even during my notice period to ensure my team and clients stayed supported. ▶️ 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐦𝐲 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦 – I informed them about my departure before they heard it from others, respecting our collaboration. ▶️ 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 – I personally shared the news, easing the transition for them. What I avoided: ▶️ Losing interest at work or skipping calls ▶️ Leaving client projects and deliverables incomplete ▶️ Acting frustrated if client projects extended my notice period Today, I’m 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐝 to say I left PwC on a 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐞, with 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬 intact. As I reposted a post containing the mail id of HR of EY relating to vacancy in "Transfer Pricing" domain, some of the hunters asked me that why is it not showing up on EY portal? listen! when I was applying on sucess factor(EY portal), then there it was showing vacancy only in Gurgaon,Pune and Mumbai but not in Bangalore. But interestingly, HR through a linkedIn post shared vacancy for Bangalore and here I am at EY(not only me many got selected through that post!). After selection, they created a vacancy on the portal and then asked me to apply. 😁 ( Babu bhaiya yaha kb dhoka ho jae koi nahi jaanta). For Kolkata also they had not posted any vacancy but articles has joined in this attempt.
