I’ve seen agencies doing seven figures in revenue, but the founder still struggles to pay themselves and their team. PPC campaigns take time to bed in!! Sometimes, we can hit it straight out of the park but often this is the exception rather than the rule. While paid search will instantly start driving traffic to your website, it takes time for your campaigns to start driving serious results. It's naturally all about optimisations. Looking at what's working and what is not working, then pointing the budget according, whether that is pausing poor keywords or stripping kingpin terms into separate campaigns. I’ve helped clients save thousands and collectively millions of pounds on brand PPC ads This is what I’ve learned about investing in brand terms on search engines 1. It might not be needed Some businesses need to protect their brand space from competition and some might not. It’s important to test whether it works for you or not 2. Don’t pay for customer service searches Adding "customer service"/"my booking" type terms as negatives avoids wastage. Adding customer lists keeps brand ads focused on new sales 3. Capping bids works well Choosing the right bid strategy and capping bids has a MASSIVE impact. A sensible cap on bids might lose say 1-5% of clicks, but save 30%+ on costs 4. Keep testing Brand is often one of the most overlooked parts of an account as it performs well compared to generics. Don’t overlook the fact it can still be improved 5. Re-invest the savings in generics The best part of reducing brand cost is being able to use that budget to increase generics and drive more traffic from this activity Saving on brand and reinvesting the budget in generics is so powerful as it gets your offering in front of more potential customers looking to book - with the exact same budget!
