PPC campaigns take time to bed in!! Sometimes, we can hit it straight out of the park but often this is the exception rather than the rule. While paid search will instantly start driving traffic to your website, it takes time for your campaigns to start driving serious results. It's naturally all about optimisations. Looking at what's working and what is not working, then pointing the budget according, whether that is pausing poor keywords or stripping kingpin terms into separate campaigns. If you are setting campaigns live it's important to bear this mind and forecast correctly. It's all about the hard slog of testing, testing & more testing. Below is from one of our clients. I used the phrase 'trash money loser PPC effort' to describe a competitor's ad campaigns today. I have no idea what it actually means, just that its bad. The campaigns were so bad, the client was considering cutting our #SEO campaigns which had generated a 113% revenue increase in our first six months with them. Why? They were under a longer term contract with their current #PPC agency (whose name I will happily share in a private DM, and will be circulating among our sales team, along with proof of the awful work). Basically they're being forced to make a hard decision on a profitable and growing service because they committed to a bad partner, under bad contract terms, in an area where they are spending a lot more money.
