You have been competing for years, and I hope you have been able to beat every competitor 🌝 Why compete when you can collaborate? It still amazes me how people compete with those they should be learning from or working with. Imagine me trying to compete with Peace Akinola, Ayomide Akintade(CPM, AGIPM), Chioma Oko or Joseph Aladenika. MBA, MSc, SPOC®, FIMC, arpa, CSSGB, people I admire. Or worse, with my helpers and mentors like Rachel Akem-Harumi, Tinuade Oguntuyi ,mMBA, PMP®,fNSIG and Patrick Asuama, It makes no sense. There is enough room in the sky for everyone to soar. Instead of competing, collaborate. Instead of envying, learn. These people have experiences, knowledge, and access to places you haven’t reached yet. Why not sit with them, grow with them, and gather wisdom? Not everything is about competition. Let’s calm down and grow together—because the truth is, we all rise higher when we rise together. 4 Years!! ✨ Today marks my 4 years at OmniRetail Technology Limited, and I couldn’t be happier. My journey began during the COVID pandemic with OmniBiz Africa (now OmniRetail), expecting a short-term role. Instead, it became a passion. Starting as an intern, I transitioned to full-time within 6 months, balancing work and studies with immense support from my team. Being in a startup meant working late hours and meeting tight deadlines. The team, then just 50-70 people across India and Africa, worked tirelessly to get the product live. Our efforts paid off as OmniRetail Technology Limited has been ranked #1 in Financial Times as '𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮'𝘀 𝗙𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰'. Despite challenges like poor infrastructure, technology adoption, lack of trust, and economic fluctuations, OmniRetail has emerged victorious. Initially, working from #India while operations were in #Nigeria, I struggled to understand our product's impact. Visiting Nigeria gave me clarity on the need for an efficient system to address supply chain challenges. OmniRetail bridges the gap between retailers and manufacturers, simplifying the distribution and retailing of essential goods in #Africa. Working with diverse datasets, I realized data is key to everything. Every decision, strategy, and major feature development relies on data to understand end-user expectations. These experiences have highlighted the opportunities to use technology and data analytics to optimize resources, improve efficiency, and drive business growth. Some of the key lessons I’ve learned: - 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁: It's crucial to know how your product works and how end-users interact with it for efficient problem-solving. - 𝗔𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗔𝘀𝗸 𝗪𝗵𝘆: Understanding the purpose and impact of each feature is vital for meaningful development. - 𝗩𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗜𝗱𝗲𝗮𝘀: Never hesitate to share your thoughts. Fresh perspectives can lead to significant improvements. My fascination with data and analytics has led me to pursue an MSc in Business Analytics at Imperial College London. This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the support of OmniRetail. A special thanks to Deepankar Rustagi, our CEO, for believing in me and fostering an environment of continuous growth. Kenya is considered the Tech capital of Africa 3. When Americans companies expand to new growth markets Africa is not part of the conversation. She says this has to shift, "We need Americans to think of Africa as the next growth market". 4. The 4 things that make Silicon Valley, silicon Valley: 1. Connectivity 2. A lot of policies have to be changed to allow more companies to come to Kenya, for example the 30% rule where a company has to be 30% Kenyan owned to come to Kenya. 9. The business climate -> Kenya needs to conform to international standards to allows more companies to come into Kenya. (Environment, Leadership and Policies) 10. Silicon Valley is a state of mind. People share ideas freely. People's personal and professional lives are deeply intertwined. 11. Take initiative and be a risk taker like her, going into ebay was not in her plan and she decides to go for it, years later she is the ambassador.

My Alx Africa Journey: Unveiling My Skills from Week- Week 5 Hey everyone! Buckle up as I take you on a whirlwind tour on my first five weeks at Alx Africa! This incubator has been a breeding ground for unlocking hidden talents, and I'm excited to share the diverse projects I've tackled. Week 1: The Melodies Within-Creating a Udio song: Week one was all about unleashing my creativity. Using Alx Africa's resources. I dove headfirst into composing a Udio song. it was an incredible experience, exploring the power of combining captivating lyrics with a memorable melody. Week 2: From Passion to Profession - Getting Yourself Hired: shifting gear's in week two, I focused on the practicalities of the professional world. I honed my resume-building and interview skills, learning valuable techniques to land my dream job through Alx Africa's guidance. Week 3: Sharing My Roots - Showcasing My Story and Heritage: Week three was a celebration of my heritage! Alx Africa empowered me to tell my story and showcase the rich tapestry of my background to the world. This project reconnected me with my roots and allows me to share them with pride. Week 4: Date Takes Shape- Visualization Data with Inforgram: Week four saw me delve into fascinating world of data visualization. Using infogram tools provided by Alx Africa. I transformed raw data sets into captivating and informative narratives. Week 5: Building My Digital Presence - Creating a Business Website and Professional Portfolio: Week five wrap up with the focus on building my digital footprint with Alx Africa's support, I constructed a professional website to showcase skills and experience. Behind the scenes of a Tech entrepreneur in Ghana My day starts with troubles from network providers , payment gateways and Aminu Umar and asking me questions about designs😂. But that's not all sometimes I feel like throwing in the towel when my team's progress is slower than expected. At AfroVivo we went through an incubation program under the European Union and Bola Ray. I thought I had automated our workflows, but while I was busy with board meetings and funding opportunities, my team got complacent😞. No designs were done, and procrastination took over. In a moment of frustration, I jokingly decided to sack everyone (like I could afford to😂) and rehire. I sent a voice note, but no one responded, so I sent a message thanking some team members for their service and HR would send a package 📦. Little did I know, my DM would start buzzing with messages from my team 📱! They were like, "We're not leaving, what's going on?" 🤔 That's when it hit me - as a CEO in Tech, my role is crucial, and the behind-the-scenes moments can be emotional and stressful. From ISP issues to salaries, we endure it all to satisfy our passion. My BTS moments may be crazy, but that's what makes this job attractive. Let's share our war stories! In February, the idea for an African tech summit first came. The vision was to power conversations by Africans, focused on Africa’s tech potential and growth. I picked up my laptop, opened canva to quickly design a concept document and then shared with my team at TekNexus Africa 4 months later, 2 date postponements and near total cancellations, it would be finally holding on the 21st and 22nd of June. The 2- day summit brings together some of Africa’s finest tech ecosystem players and enablers, professionals, builders and leaders to discuss how we can collectively build Africa’s tech future in terms of skills, talent and venture. Welcome to Day 2 of the ALX Africa 7-LinkedIn Challenge 👏👌 Today I will share the challenges I had faced and how I did overcome 👏 A significant challenge I faced was putting together my career portfolio after my NYSC. At first, I didn’t really understand how to channel my passion into something tangible. It felt overwhelming, and I wasn't sure where to start. However, I turned to volunteering and took online courses like ALx AI Career Essentials, which really motivated me. Through these experiences, I learned to view my life as a project, defining clear goals and taking actionable steps to achieve them. This shift in mindset helped me stay focused and organized. I began to gather my experiences, skills, and achievements into a cohesive portfolio that truly represented my journey. Here are some key lessons I learned along the way: Embrace Uncertainty: It's okay to feel lost at first. Embracing that uncertainty can lead to growth and discovery. Seek Opportunities: Volunteering not only provides experience but also helps build a professional network. Invest in Learning: Online courses can be a great way to gain new skills and boost your confidence.
