How can you help more cool innovations reach the real world while advocating for #European #deeptech #sovereignty? 🤔 (1/n) That is what I have been asking myself for three months. On my first day at Da Vinci Labs (DVL), I started a plan to better understand #SynBio, #AI and #quantum, how to work with these #startups, and how to navigate European Commission (#EC) projects 🏄♂️ The first step to providing value in science is understanding it, so I started creating a wiki that gathers relevant resources to know the state of the art and the landscape 🌆. With that, I created a roadmap (work in progress) to plan what I would learn and when, including playbooks for working with deep tech startups, relevant information about the main challenges: scaling #TRL, protecting #IP, designing a successful #GTM strategy, etc. In Notion, I try to be concise to integrate concepts. The "real" work is done in G-drive. By the way, I feel that a great way to enhance your learning is by designing a GPT, so you have a friend available 24/7 to bounce ideas off 🤾♂️ The goal is not to be an expert in everything, but to know enough to identify experts, ask the right questions, and provide real value 💡 Okay, but why am I starting this series? - Because I am increasingly getting more involved with other #EC projects in which DVL is working. This is a huge opportunity to learn from the inside, and I feel that explaining it to others is one of the best ways to learn. So, I accept the challenge 🤝 - Because I am convinced that one of the best ways to learn is to talk with experts. I am super lucky in that regard because in the team we have brilliant people. Besides talking as much as I can with them, I am on a mission to learn more about AI and quantum, especially about the main #stakeholders. I would really appreciate it if you can tag in comments some people to connect with. Super extra points if they are based and/or operate near Paris (I’ll explain this soon 🤐) To sum up: I will write posts about #deeptechforgood, with a special focus on the amazing European projects DVL is working on. I would love to meet more experts, especially in AI and quantum, even more so if they work at the intersection of these two fields and/or with synbio and are based in Paris or nearby 📍 Last but not least, I want to thank the whole DVL team for the huge amount of time and energy they are dedicating to catalyzing my learning with their explanations and insightful resources. You have been crucial to my progress over these three months. New: Bioptimus, a new French AI startup founded by former Google/DeepMind employees, has raised $35 million in seed funding. The company wants to use AI's increasing power and apply it to the reams of available data in life and biomedical sciences to accelerate innovation in the sector.
