I played a key role in creating the UK's digital personal tax account, which set new global standards for government digital services. I'm excited to see how personal data is being leveraged with AI and improved compute capabilities to create new business models and valuable consumer solutions. The digital personal tax account helped shape UK open banking by enabling seamless data sharing, reducing friction, and minimizing the need for user-inputted data through APIs, pre-population, multifactor authentication, and a single government gateway all within the digital customer journey. The shift from open banking to a broad reaching Smart Data roadmap is exciting. Data sharing within open finance will soon extend to include investments, insurance, mortgages, and pensions. These sectors, with low customer engagement, are all ripe for disruption by startups using new technologies and #AI, like #fintech's such as Chime, Nubank, Revolut, and SoFi have successfully demonstrated with open banking. Sad to not be in London this week for the #AWSSummit today, particularly given the new announcements by the RAISE team from Capgemini Data and AI which continue to focus on working with AWS on the growing challenge of LLM Operations, whether this is onboarding new models like Anthropic's Claude 3 trilogy of Haiku, Sonnet and Opus, the new Meta Llama 3 models or the work with Databricks and Amazon Web Services (AWS) on the operational scaling and support for complex RAG, Guardrail and Evaluation support there is much to be talked about with the team about how we continue to enable the optimization of the whole AWS AI stack, from Bedrock and Q right down to the "physical" AI infrastructure. One of the really cool things that has happened in the past 4(!) months since it was soft launched and the whole ONE MONTH since it was formally launched is the development of two new optimization approaches for models one from Weiwei Feng that uses Deep Learning on evaluation metrics to do performance & cost based optimization, and the other, Agentic, approach being used by Marek Sowa and Alaina Case. I'm really not sure how Mark Oost and Bikash Dash are keeping up with all these new developments and releases. What is absolutely clear is that the field of LLM Operations is one that requires companies to think differently about operations, in terms of what failure means, what security means, what cost management means and what release and upgrade cycles are about. The field is moving far too fast for traditional approaches and processes and everyone needs the sort of industrialization that RAISE, AWS and Databricks are providing. Shout out to Tara Foster and Genevieve Chamard who will be at the event and can be grabbed for a conversation, and of course Myriam Chave for all the marketing support. #GenAI #AI #LLMOps #FinOps
