Our brand new steakhouse in Birmingham had a special visit from a VIP guest yesterday. He stopped by Paradise Birmingham and Colmore BID to fuel up for his busiest week of the year with a Flat iron steak, Koffmann's chips, green & pink peppercorn sauce and a cheeky glass of Cow and Sow Malbec.... Even Santa can’t resist Cow & Sow | B Corp™! 🎅 🐄 🍷 #restaurant #birmingham #newopening #paradise

Cow & Sow | B Corp™ reposted this
It was a pleasure to meet and welcome the Mayor of The West Midlands Richard Parker last night. We had a fantastic conversation around Cow & Sow | B Corp™ and our comitment to putting purpose before profit and supporting young people into our workforce wherever possible. A conversation made all the more interesting as the Mayor is a fellow Bristol City Football Club follower ⚽️ A brilliant piece of video featuring our head chef, Chris and the talented Hayden.

Stopped by the newly opened Cow & Sow | B Corp™ in Birmingham - amazing food & passionate chefs! Proud that we've supported their recruitment of mostly local talent with £100,000. Backing businesses like this is how we keep the West Midlands thriving. Great to meet chefs passionate about their craft and the future of the sector. The restaurant opened its doors this week with 47 new recruits, including 16 young people, from chefs to front-of-house roles. It was supported in part by a £100,000 grant from the West Midlands Combined Authority. I’ll leave the flame grilling to the professionals – they make it look easy!

This appointment tells me there are some exciting plans on the horizon….👀
Following the announcement of our B Corp™ certification and with the imminent launch of Cow & Sow Birmingham, the time has come for me to bring some strength and depth to my board. I am thrilled to welcome Chris Jelf as a non-executive director to help steer the ship as we embark on some more exciting plans. A life long family friend and mentor, and legendary figure throughout business, in particular within the insurance sector, Chris will bring a wealth of experience and wisdom to Cow & Sow | B Corp™ as we continue to build this very special business. #newhire #steakhouse #business #people #boardofdirectors #director

BIG NEWS
Cow & Sow is now a Certified B Corporation! It’s a ‘pinch me’ moment as we are now rubbing shoulders with some of the most respected hospitality brands in the UK such as Hawksmoor, Dishoom, Pizza Pilgrims, Blacklock & Caravan Restaurants | B Corp™ to name just a few. Wow… this really has to be the proudest moment of my working life. In this transformational year we have launched a residence at Ashton Gate Stadium, secured our first site outside of Bristol (in Paradise Birmingham) and now we are able to prove that we are committed to using our business as a force for good. When I launched Cow & Sow three years ago I wanted to build a brand to be proud of and to take the teams on an exciting and purposeful journey. But how could this business walk the walk and not just talk it? In my opinion, the sticking point with endless awards it that they are only a snapshot in time, can sometimes be quite biased and certainly subjective. The answer had to be B Corp. As a steak restaurant business it would be a tough ask but I knew we were doing great things by the people and planet. We were engaging with suppliers, ensuring provenance and sustainability of our product. As a team we collectively review our environmental impact and share ideas to reduce our carbon footprint in all manner of areas. This was always more than just a steak restaurant brand and I wanted to start as I meant to go on and continually strive to be a force for good. So I reached out and met the most brilliant Andy Hawkins and the fabulous Jude Segerlund who both held my hand through the application process. Several grueling months later and a door has been set ajar. I see this milestone as a door opening. The real work starts now! We pledge to put purpose before profit, but B Corp demands that you continue to do so and continually strive to do better. That, I LOVE AND WE WILL EMBRACE! So proud of everyone involved and the entire team within and surrounding Cow & Sow. Massive thanks to Olly Kohn and the team at The Jolly Hog | B Corp and also to Flora B. of Marshfield Farm Ice Cream | B Corp™ for all of your pointers at the foot of this mountain ahead. The journey starts now…. #bcorp #purpose #people #planet #betterbusiness #forceforgood
