I ended my recent flurry of networking events on Friday with Pattern's last Slow Networking event of 2024! Christopher Owens and Paul Lancaster were great hosts (and not just because of the enormous mince pie supply) and it was brilliant hearing from North East mayor Kim McGuinness about her first months in the role. Lovely morning at Wizu Workspace in Newcastle at Pattern x PLATFORM networking event! 🔗 🎄 Exciting to hear about exciting opportunities and plans for businesses in the North East from Mayor Kim McGuinness - thanks to Christopher Owens and Paul Lancaster for organising! 🙏 I have to admit I wasn’t in top form (knackered after walking around Paris for three days) but was grateful to see Marianne Butler - don’t you love it when you find an accountability partner you know won’t just fade away after a few weeks?! It was nice to see Sharon MacArthur Laura Pearman Ruby Guyler too! I also signed up to work from the Wizu space and become part of the community! Excited to make new connections and hopefully organise some events there in 2025! It’s such a great space! 🙌

Great way to end a year of slow networking! Huge thanks to everyone who spend the morning with us, Kim McGuinness for giving her time and insights and to Paul Lancaster for collaborating on this special Christmassy end of year event. Definitely didn't think this would be how the year ended when I had an idea for a low pressure and fun networking event.

Yet again Christopher Owens smashed it out of the park with his slow networking event at Wizu Workspace; this morning in collaboration with Paul Lancaster. They did a good job of keeping it quiet that they had Kim McGuinness as their guest speaker. She was as inspiring, authentic honest as ever.
