The winter holidays are almost here, with some well-earned time off for many people. Over the festive holiday period, our offices will be closed, and our staff will be unavailable between 16:30 on Tuesday 24 December 2024 and 08:30 on Thursday 2 January 2025. We would like to wish all our centres, learners and partners a joyful and peaceful festive season and a happy New Year.
About us
We create inspiring and impactful leadership programmes that teach young people the skills that empower them to be leaders in their own lives and communities. We encourage a whole organisation approach to leadership skills to make sure that young people can learn these skills wherever their interests may lie. We want our courses to support every learner, from primary to beyond school age, and we want every young person to possess the skills, knowledge and resilience needed to shape their world with confidence and optimism. Our 40-year legacy in leadership skill development within the education and community sectors has given us invaluable insights, data and knowledge about the impact leadership skills can have on the individual and their various communities. Our leadership programmes are underpinned by a research-led skills framework, offering both structure and flexibility. We aim to collaborate with others including government departments, fellow charities, not-for-profit organisations and other partners to make sure our programmes are fit for purpose and meet the needs of our learners. Together, we can empower the greatest number of learners with the confidence to believe, the qualities to lead and the skills to succeed.

We now accredit Association of Colleges Sport's Student Leadership Programme. 430 college students across the UK are learning to lead through sport. They create their own projects, run events, and help more students get active. Students complete a workbook to show their progress, which gives them a record of their skills and achievements to share with future employers. Our Director of Innovation and Standards, Lucy Supperstone, said: "‘We are thrilled to be working with Association of Colleges to accredit their Student Leadership Programme. Students will now be recognised with an accredited award that acknowledges their endeavours through the programme, including the development of their leadership skills."
