If you want to be a successful leader, you have to figure out who you are! Once you do that, you have to learn how to convince your followers that your values matter and then learn how to hold them accountable. So says Acacia Walker-Weinstein, head coach of the women's lacrosse program at Boston College. Watch as she tells Karl Block what advice she would give to aspiring coaches. We love having our girls watch the Iowa women’s basketball team play—not just for their skill on the court, but for the example they set off of it. Jan Jensen, like Lisa Bluder before her, sets the bar high—not just for excellence, but for integrity. The kind of leader who demands character as much as she demands effort. You see it in the way the players carry themselves, how they respond to adversity, and how they show up in the moments that truly matter. As a parent, there’s nothing better than knowing your kids are watching athletes who are held to a higher standard, led by a coach who lives out those values every day. That’s the power of leadership rooted in integrity; it creates a ripple effect, inspiring those around them to do better and be better. What these athletes represent is bigger than basketball. It’s a reflection of leadership done right—creating not just exceptional players, but exceptional people. #womensbasketball #collegebasketball #iowabasketball #integritymatters #leadershipinaction #mindfulleadership #leadershipdevelopment #charactermatters #womeninsport #womeninsports #womencoaches

Sports as a Force for Change! One program that has inspired me is Right to Play, founded by Olympic champion Johann Olav Koss. They use the power of sports and play to educate children in some of the world’s most challenging environments. By combining sports with education, Right to Play helps children develop leadership, resilience, and teamwork skills. What I find powerful about Right to Play is how it turns simple games into life-changing lessons, helping children build the tools they need to break cycles of poverty and pursue their dreams. As young leaders, it reminds us of how impactful sport can be when used as a tool for development and empowerment. 🏅⚽ How are you using sports to make a difference? Let’s inspire and learn from each other! #LearningSprintIOCYL#RightToPlay #SportsForChange #EmpowerThroughSports Javier Raya OLY Ana-Marija Garcevic @IOC YOUNG LEADERS COMMUNITY
