It's not much of a secret that I'm not a big fan of rankings. But I work in Higher Education, and - like them or loathe them - you can't avoid them! So it was about time we talked all about them with Lancaster University Management School's Rose White for the Pentland Centre for Sustainability in Business #TransformingTomorrow podcast. We discuss how sustainability fits into rankings and accreditations (I don't have a problem with the latter!), and what it means for how business schools operate. I'd like to think I held back some of my disdain for the whole rankings business (from management schools and universities to football and breaking), but Jan Bebbington and Rose might disagree! https://lnkd.in/eakfGXnP

I am developing an #ISpyClimateInfluence audio series for my Substack newsletter (which may evolve into a more traditional #podcast) . You are invited to subscribe. And, you can DM me if you think you have an aligned potential guest for me. I am looking for: Unusual suspects/ unexpected messengers who have built influence in the #builtenvironment, #energy, #food or #transportation sectors but are not already seen on stages as leaders of such. If you look at my Living Change podcast, I interviewed mayors about their #biking for transportation and a well known DJ about his #plantbased bar. These are *unusual suspects* with massive climate influence who are not singularly known as "climate leaders." I am deeply interested in leaders/influencers in corporate, political and cultural spaces who themselves *live change* through changed personal behaviors and then how that is shared on their platforms. Maybe that's in the fact that they went #plantbased or started riding their kids to school on an #ebike or something else like that. I want to connect the dots between your personal values and your work and tell stories that have the potential for massive climate influence and that may not be (very likely are not) covered by the media otherwise. I am not looking for: Climate, #climatetech and #sustainability leaders who are already known as such and speak at the usual conferences and guest on the usual podcasts (unless they have a really unique personal values/behavior change story). My goal: to be super enthused about sharing with you the joy of matching your personal values with the work you are doing and to have our minds blown about how amazing it is that your #leadership presence in whatever sector has the potential to help a lot more people take climate actions too.

Host and Production Specialist John G. Daniel is a believer, advocate for underserved communities, and published writer, with vast transformative leadership experience in the energy sector, economic development, hurricane recovery, and youth/community education and empowerment. Itoro Umontuen is the Editor of this project and is an award-winning photographer, reporter, and mixed-media journalist. About the Equity in Business Podcast The United States is facing a racial wealth gap that has existed for over 330 years. But at the same time, businesses run by systematically excluded communities of color (Asian-Indian, Asian-Pacific, Black, Hispanic, and Native American) still contribute over $400 billion to the U.S. economy, even though these communities face barriers to information, capital, and contracts. Hosted by the NMSDC, this podcast channel explores how growing minority business enterprises (MBEs) is central to not only addressing the racial wealth gap but also creating a stronger, more resilient society for all.
