Brilliant start to a great event at Bright Red Triangle @ Edinburgh Napier University with 3 startups presenting to 12 MSPs for feedback on innovative new products with the potential to dramatically improve security, increase revenues, and reduce costs for the industry. LastingAsset exists to fight fraud, protect the vulnerable, and ensure that we don't lose our biggest asset as a society - Trust in each other. We are looking for 'Givers' who support everyone in the team and help colleagues grow and succeed. All employees will be part of the ESOP program (after the initial probationary period). The role is UK based (ideally Edinburgh/Scotland). In-person meetings will be a function of finding the right balance between productivity, efficiency, and team building (some weeks 2-days a week and other weeks fully remote). We expect you to be a motivated self starter who is willing to roll up your sleeves and get stuff done. I just learned that #Singapore's economy is consistently ranked as the most open in the world, the joint 5th-least corrupt, and one of the most pro-business environments globally. Experiencing this firsthand during my trip to participate in the Global Business Innovation Programme (#GBIP) with Innovate UK has been nothing short of inspiring. As one of 10 UK companies selected, LastingAsset has had the opportunity to explore the vibrant market and engage with both local and international firms. However, a critical issue we've encountered is the alarming rise in #scams and fraudulent activities within #Singapore’s rapidly evolving digital landscape—#scams now account for more than 50% of all crimes in the country. This growing threat urgently needs to be addressed to protect both businesses and consumers from significant financial and reputational harm. One memorable moment was our visit to the CyberSG TIG Collaboration Centre. Based on my insightful conversations with Doris Tan and Felix Tang, I noticed the groundbreaking work happening there, which was truly exciting and sparked new ideas for future partnerships. We were also honoured to attend an event at Eden Hall, hosted by the British High Commission. The caliber of individuals we had the privilege to meet was truly inspiring, including the High Commissioner Nikesh Mehta, Jeremy Ong, Amorn Chomchoey, Kartina Osman, Elsie Yim, Lucy Maskell-Pedersen, Chui Wern Ng and Xinhui Tan. I am also incredibly grateful for the hospitality extended by BT Singapore office (Sunny Tan) and ST Engineering (Woo Lip Lim). 🙌 What makes this experience even more rewarding is the remarkable delegation of companies I’ve had the honour to learn from: Vouchsec | Michael Piskozub – Loved the discussion on making MSSP rapid response more efficient. CyberCyte | Necati Ertugrul, CISSP – Your approach to threat exposure management really stood out. Ethicronics | Franck Courbon PhD – Confident that your hardware assurance solutions will make an impact across sectors. NetWatch Global® | David Purcell – Exciting conversations on using blockchain for data immutability. SEP2 | Paul Starr – Insightful talks on data privacy and AI’s role in your startup. Castlepoint Systems | Rachael Greaves – Great discussions on ethical AI for de-risking compliance. Friday Initiatives | Lauren Murphy – I appreciated our insightful conversation about navigating the complexities of the data landscape. To top it all off, I’d like to extend the biggest thank you to Philippa Dean, Jens Böhm and Georgios Papadakis for their outstanding leadership and support. LastingAsset is absolutely delighted to be awarded £348k in an Innovate UK smart grant. Only 2.79% (46) of submitted applications (1645) passed the very high cutoff rate of 86.1% in this round and we are super excited to having made the cut. It has been an incredible journey for this amazing project from Edinburgh Napier University's SCEBE where I had the opportunity to work with two brilliant minds - Zakwan Jaroucheh and Prof Bill Buchanan OBE FRSE. We started by looking for a problem we really wanted to solve. After some iteration, we found one.. Stopping Impersonation Fraud in a world of AI voice cloning and deep fakes. Over the last 18 months we have worked on a building our solution and are now ready to begin pilots with early adopters. A startup journey is a long and arduous one and we will certainly find pitfalls and need to pivot multiple times.. but for now we are sprinting off the starting line. Every startup needs a village to support them and there are too many people to thank - I will take a crack at fitting as many as I can.
