LastingAsset was delighted to welcome Ian Murray, MP of Edinburgh South and Shadow Secretary of State for Scotland, to Edinburgh Napier University's Merchiston campus recently. Ian came to learn more about an exciting new spinout from Edinburgh Napier University's SCEBE, LastingAsset, which is developing an innovative solution to tackle impersonation fraud using cutting-edge cryptography and privacy-preserving tools. Ian has a strong background in entrepreneurship including experience with a fish and chip shop, one of the largest events at Edinburgh festival, a TV and broadcasting station, a derelict hotel, a bar in Newington and more. He knows the challenges and opportunities that start-ups face and strongly believes in the importance of fighting for fairness and protecting the community from fraudsters who prey on vulnerable people. We had a very engaging and productive conversation with Ian, who was genuinely interested and curious about our technology and vision. He shared his insights and perspectives on the problem of impersonation fraud and how it affects his constituents and the wider society. He also gave us valuable advice and encouragement on how to scale and grow our business and reach our potential customers. It was a pleasure to meet Ian and we are grateful for his support and endorsement of our work. Thank you Ian, Santander, Santander X , Jonathan Powell, Louise Fairleigh and Polly Harrold for making this happen.
