Guided by nature, we make the finest still and sparkling English wines on our beautiful family-run estate.

About us

Bolney Wine Estate is one of the longest established English vineyards and has been making award winning English wines at its Sussex estate for over 40 years. The sandstone soils are some of the best in the country, providing the ideal setting to grow vines. In the 1990s Samantha Linter (daughter of the founders) took charge of the winemaking and since then we have won some of the wine industry’s most coveted awards for our selection of white, red and sparkling wines. The sparkling wine is produced following the same traditional method as is used to produce Champagne, providing luxurious, flavour-filled wines. We are proud of our story and how far our family has come in the last five decades. Bolney Wine Estate has been one of the pioneers of the English wine industry and our experience and passion has helped energize others who have joined our craft. Today three generations of the family are involved in the business. Our goal is simple: to produce the best quality wines possible, to rival the best wineries in the world. Pioneers of English Wine. Since 1972

  • We're delighted to announce the launch of two new products in our portfolio: English Vines Rosé and English Garden Spritz. English Vines Rosé 2023 is made from 100% Pinot Noir and is rose gold in colour with notes of strawberry, watermelon and peach blossom on the nose, and perfectly balanced, gentle acid with a dry finish on the palate – deliciously refreshing. English Garden Spritz is our exciting new lower-alcohol spritz (6% ABV) carefully crafted from our 2022 Chardonnay based Bianco Vermouth and the perfect tonic recipe created in partnership with Folkington’s. Cara Lee Dely, Head of Winemaking, Production and Operations commented: “We are thrilled to reveal our latest releases and can’t wait for guests to our Estate and English wine lovers across the country to enjoy these deliciously summery new products. In creating the English Vines Rosé and English Garden Spritz, we set out to capture some of the magic that we have on our Estate, and we believe we have done exactly that – just in time for Summer!”

  • We’re delighted to announce that we will be Glyndebourne's Official Wine Partner for 2024, covering both its Festival and Autumn seasons. To celebrate, we’ll be offering a free glass of Bolney North Downs Cuvée to everyone at the opening night of the Festival on Thursday 16th May! Throughout the partnership, a selection of still & sparkling wines, and spirits from our portfolio will be listed in Glyndebourne’s three onsite restaurants and main bar, in addition to a dedicated Bolney Bar situated in the heart of the estate’s outdoor space, The Hamlet. Our range will also be included in the Glyndebourne picnic offering and will be served to VIP members during the festival opening night and in the exclusive members bars. Our General Manager, James Davis, MW, commented: “We are thrilled to be partnering with Glyndebourne as their official wine partner for an incredible season of opera. At Bolney Wine Estate, we produce award-winning still and sparkling wines at our Sussex Estate and see this collaboration as an excellent way of aligning our passion for exceptional winemaking with Glyndebourne’s commitment to delivering unforgettable cultural experiences. We look forward to elevating every moment of the Festival this year with our wines providing the perfect toast for the occasion.”

  • A great opportunity to work with us as part of a dynamic production team within the growing English Wine industry.

  • On Monday we were delighted to welcome the team from The Lanesborough Hotel with members from their concierge, kitchen and sommelier teams joining us hosted by Helen Chesshire and Mauro Segatta. The day involved a tasting of wines and spirits from across our portfolio as well as an exclusive preview of new products coming from our Winery. Our Vineyard Manager, Sean Anderson, also met with the team to talk about the pruning process which has recently been completed in our Eighteen Acre Vineyard. After collaborating with The Lanesborough with our Winemaker, Cara Lee Dely, hosting a dinner there last year, it was great to bring their team down to experience the brilliant hospitality offering at our Sussex Estate.
